Nothing
Staff were fabulous and location was great!! Great bar and breakfast.
Shower kept going off, basin hot water tap scalding hot! Loads of cobwebs in the room, hand prints and scuff marks on the walls. Lift out of action so challenging with heavy bags. On street parking was confusing, would be good if the hotel could get parking concession.
Great location easy to find and get to
Was a little dark and the staircase was hard to find because the exits were poorly marked. Bed sheets were a little grubby but nothing worthy of a complaint
Location and large rooms
Not much it ticked all the right boxes
Disappointing stay, despite a good location. We booked a King Deluxe room, but instead of one king-size bed, there were two single beds pushed together, which kept separating in the middle and was very uncomfortable for a couple. The room lighting was very dim, some lights didn’t work, and the TV was not working. The Wi-Fi was also very poor, and the lift was not working properly, so we had to use the stairs or wait for it to restart.
The bathroom also lacked basic amenities such as toothpaste, toothbrushes, and other essentials, with nothing provided.
The main positive was the location, around a 16-minute walk from Belfast Grand Central Station and close to the city centre. Overall, the room and facilities were disappointing for the price.
Good location
Very scruffy tired reception area, very noisy bedroom as it is on the Main Street
We had a really lovely stay at House Belfast and were very happy with everything. The room was comfortable and full of character, the bar downstairs is gorgeous, and every member of staff we encountered was genuinely so friendly and welcoming.
I’d seen a few reviews beforehand saying the hotel is a little worn or needs updating, but personally I completely disagree — I think that’s part of its charm. It has personality and character rather than feeling like another generic, modern hotel.
I’d also seen complaints about noise from the bar, but House is clearly a lively hotel with a popular bar and nightlife atmosphere, particularly at weekends. That was part of the appeal for us, and we had no issue with it whatsoever. If absolute silence is your priority, there are probably more suitable hotels!
We really enjoyed our stay and would happily come back. The staff in particular were fantastic and really made the experience.
