The location and price were perfect and very walkable to the city centre. The area itself hosts a lot of great food places and bars, as well as a generally safe enough atmosphere. Bed was very big, TV worked, and shower was excellent.
We were unable to unblock our sink as the plug had got stuck from the previous room resident, I believe? It also would have been nice to have a little biscuit alongside the tea station, but otherwise very good. A little dusty in parts.
The peace and comfort inside the room.
The outside surrounding is also very comfortable.

1) The elevator (lift) would occasionally decide it didn’t want to work. The receptionist would then disappear to reset it
2) The “king” bed was way too soft. It was actually two twins pushed together creating a rut between the two
3) As with most hotels in Ireland, there is no A/C so the window had to be kept open all night. It could be noisy
4). The hotel is old but they are trying to fix it up.

It was friendly, good breakfasts,
there was a little repair needed in reception - a cupboard that housed the cleaning stuff, which made your arrival a bit shabby
Staff -almost all were very friendly only exception was the breakfast guy - a bit cheeky and he definitely needed to find a clean pair of trousers. Breakfast itself was interesting, we were seated beside the work station and could see behind the counter and it is filthy beyond filthy. We opted for the continental which included croissant , toast , banana , yoghurt, granola and we opted for orange juice. Toffee was the only flavour of yoghurt which I would never eat and it was accompanied by a bowl of granola that could top 20 yoghurts -chef maybe doesn't understand granola. The orange juice was unpleasant , definitely not freshly squeezed. Bonus was the green tea piping hot and lovely. Banana on toast drizzled with honey and a hot cup of tea - did the job. The bedroom was ok , it was quiet, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was clean all very important. The only downside is the smell - a very stale smell of old smoke, fusty, held in the carpet, curtains and fabrics but it was only for one night. The bar was fine, bar staff very friendly, choice of seating in or out and a wee singer in the corner, we stayed for one.
It just feels stale, needs a really good clean and some oversight.
The lift was declared dodgy - in fairness the hotel pre-warned that this was the case before we went.

Staff were fabulous and location was great!! Great bar and breakfast.
Shower kept going off, basin hot water tap scalding hot! Loads of cobwebs in the room, hand prints and scuff marks on the walls. Lift out of action so challenging with heavy bags. On street parking was confusing, would be good if the hotel could get parking concession.
