Bedding facilities can be improved
As a family of 4, we stayed in 2 rooms along the small canal. One of the rooms had a terrace which was nice to have morning coffee on and watch the small boats making their way through the water. The location is ideal for transportation and exploring Venice. Staff was friendly and helpful.
La ubicación
Tamaño de la habitación y vistas a un andamio...el edificio de enfrente estaba en obras.
It all started months ago and months ago when i 1st called tge hotel to understand a few things. The call was answered by the great Jacopo who patiently and professionally explained everything to me. This gave me huge amounts of confidence re this hotel. I then exchanged many emails for different questions . EACH on of thosr emails were answered by the brilliant AC venice team. The entire team that i had contact with, namely Zlata, alessandro, jacopo, casimo, michael, manuel, stage, girogio, francesco, (and if iv forgotten anyone pls excuse me). All These people are simply exceptional. Not like any other hotel staff iv encountered. These people make you feel like you’re in ur own house. Unbelievable. All of them led by the wonderful, and truly truly brilliant GM Verbiana. She has lots to be proud of 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻.
Any request was met with “certainly sir”
Then there was the staff of the restaurant, Glicio, Eros, anita, billah, elesia. The smile, the warmth and tge attentiveness of these people made each day special.
Then ofcourse housekeeping and bell desk: farzana who made our room look the a presidential suite each day👏🏻👏🏻. And Abdul, who was the most helpful and wonderful person we’ve met
Verbian and her spectacular team made each and every minute of this birthday trip extremely special and memorable, and they all did it with a smile❤️❤️❤️
Thank you everyone at Ac Venice
The breakfast was good. No complaints there.
Room was okay but no view of anything but the wall of the building next door which was on other side of a narrow alley. But in all fairness that's probably standard for that location.
These are the things I care about in no particular order
Size—very small
Bathroom size ie place to put stuff —decent
Top sheet and preferably thin comforter—bad—just a comforter
Good AC—no room was very hot at night
Comfy bed—too soft
Noise level from outside—fine unless you open windows
Noise level from other rooms and hallway—didn’t notice any
Toiletries including body lotion—had all
Thick towels—no they were thin and no washcloths
Quality ie no rips, worn furniture—no problem here
At least 40” TV—yes
Location—excellent and worth staying here so you don’t need a water taxi
Price—reasonable
Closet and drawer space—ok not great but unlikely to stay in Venice long
Makeup mirror—no
All said, location for coming from cruise was great bc we had a lot of luggage. Water taxi would have been hard. Hotel was fine. People were friendly.
My husband and I are loyal Platinum Elite Marriott Bonvoy members. I chose the hotel for the location, price and ease of access to historic Venice. We prepaid with a fabulous rate for three nights, April 27 - 29th in a Queen bed Water view room “trusting” the photo is as the room is represented as I have anxiety and have an understanding of European traditional rooms.
We arrived to the hotel, walking over from the train station. Up and down the ginormous glass looking bridge. We each had a large suitcase and a carry on bag understanding that it wasn’t going to be an easy but we weren’t in a hurry! There is a waterbus (public transportation) that would’ve been extremely quick, and much easier, if I had done my research a little more but, it’s all about the journey. So, keep in mind, those who may not be able to trek your luggage over the large bridge, look into a water bus pass. The water bus is right outside the terminal and would’ve been 5 minutes over to the other side where the hotel is then, only another 5 minutes walk. Otherwise, and so I heard, from another couple staying at the hotel, they were offered by a street porter to take their luggage over the bridge and at a cost of €20/bag. Heck no. Sadly you have to be pushy/ push back and the couple tells me, they tried but didn’t get anywhere and said, they live and learn. As I tell my parents, don’t talk to anyone unless you approach them in any and all circumstances. Keep your valuables strapped to your chest crossbody bag in front of you. Nothing in your pockets front or back.
Anyway, we arrive to the hotel and we’re greeted by Zlata and Alessandro. Pleasant, welcoming and very well informed. We were advised by Zlata to scan a QR code to register for the new City Tour tax/pass, an exemption is given to all hotel guests of Venice. The next morning we were approached and asked by city staff to see the registration. Since then, not again.
We then, go to our room and….this is where the Rocky start begins albeit, acknowledgement from management with a bottle of something, snacks and a card welcoming us to the hotel (Anniversary acknowledgement) for which we don’t know whatever happened to it as for when we finally got settled, it never got back to us. Lol. Well, as I mentioned we booked a Queen water view, as always, using the Marriott app where the room demonstrated a specific picture. Well, it wasn’t anything as pictured and so small I was having a panic attack. I spoke with Alessandro at front desk explaining this is not the room we booked showing him the picture of the app photo. He found a similar room, took us to the room and it was ok but…again, not as demonstrated in the photo. I reserved a room that appeared most spacious and for a European hotel room that shows a two window with a balcony door. He said, yes. They have them but they’re all occupied. Hmm… I ask, how is that as we paid for this room as pictured. I gave the e.g. you show me a “filet mignon” and give me a top sirloin. A bait and switch. Not right. I have anxiety l. I can’t stay in this room. I chose the room pictured to feel assured in my comfort in knowing my level of anxiety. Alessandro appeared to understand and tried very hard including his colleague Zlata to help within their pay grade, I say. I ask to speak with the GM/ Manager and both are in a meeting until an undetermined time. I was so upset I wanted answers as this wasn’t right. We were ready to leave as I couldn’t stay in the room as small as it was and not what we paid for. I gave Zlata an earful and I tell you, she showed me compassion, kindness and extreme courtesy and patience all while being professional. Her and Alessandro were kind throughout. They could only do what they could do until I was able to speak with Management. The minute management got out of their meeting, I received an immediate call from Alessandro saying the GM was out of her meeting and ready to meet with me. Omg, she couldn’t have been more genuine and caring ensuring we/I was comfortable with my anxiety and the circumstances. She showed me the room as pictured in the app. It’s what we booked!! I’m told that there are many rooms in the one category but, only the one, on the app/ website. I provided constructive feedback saying that the pictures should demonstrate all the rooms in that category for if it were, I wouldn’t have booked. It’s deceiving. It’s unbelievable to me how expedient, thoughtful and genuine the hospitality shown. Verbiana, (GM) and her colleague, Michael (Front Desk Manager) truly care about your being and stay! Anyone who knows me, knows that I will be the first to be accountable for myself, and hereto, I immediately phoned and went to speak with Zlata and Alessandro for expressing such upset.
I tell you, stay at the AC Hotel, the staff truly care about you and make you feel like you are at your home away from home. Thank you for a millionth time Verbiana, Michael, Zlata, including Cosimo (for great directions).
The room we chose as pictured is attached. I’ll include the three rooms - all same category but very different.
Breakfast was included in our rate and it was a buffet style. Continental with option to pay approx. $5 for omelette/ eggs. We chose to go out and find cafeteria with a Croissant and Cappuccino. The breakfast rate was cheaper than my usual rate I use - Government.
The beds were comfortable. Guests have said, if someone turns on the bathroom light in night, it lights up the room. It does. So, use your cell phone light and that’ll help fix the issue. We found that the AC in our room wouldn’t go below 19 but thankfully the weather here is cool so we could open the door and allow for some cool air flow.
It’s a nice, clean, lovely hotel away from the hustle and bustle of the tourist area e.g. Rialto area. We walked a lot and used the Water bus to get around but also, we used the water bus to enjoy the grand canal views. Take it at 745pm, line 2, and enjoy the evening sunset views! Don’t be fooled on where the hotel is located. It’s perfectly located to all the must sees. Get lost in Venice! It’s actually fun! Just make sure you have your GPS, cell phone to get around the streets. Check out Tonolo bakery. And, for great Cappuccino, check out “Caik.” I would stay here, again if I found ourselves in Venice. I write this as we’re still checked. We leave tomorrow morning for W Florence!! Told you. Loyal to Marriott. Save your money and stay here in the quieter area.
