Joey is literally the sweetest bartender on the planet. So friendly and welcoming. It’s a shame they don’t have in-room dining or a restaurant on premises but I had a drink while waiting for my Sweetgreen delivery and I could not have been happier with my conversations with Joey.

First time staying here (maybe even my first time staying at a hotel in NJ!), just for one night for a work event. I hadn’t realized it was two hotels in one (Hampton + Homewood), and it reminded me very much of a place I’ve stayed in Miami in the past.

Lovely welcome when I arrived and check-in was very quick. My room was ready before the official check-in time and I was provided all the necessary information for a comfortable stay. I was even recognized as a DR member, which was nice!

My room was of typical size and typical Hampton layout, and I was incredibly impressed at the cleanliness! The room had everything I needed. It did, however, have a bit of a funky/musty smell to it, which didn’t dissipate throughout my short stay :(

I was excited that I was staying on a Wednesday night, when they have a free “social” as part of the Homewood Suites. I unfortunately didn’t have time to really enjoy it, though there were one or two other people there just after 5pm, and the snacks looked decent enough.

Super quiet and comfortable overnight — very cosy bed!

One thing I did NOT like is that the air-conditioning would turn itself off when no-one was in the room, and I would always come back to a really hot room and then have to wait for it to cool down again. The AC works on a sensor and that made it very frustrating!

I was advised at check-in that I was able to avail of either of the breakfasts in the morning, either the one with Homewood Suites or the one at the Hampton Inn, whichever I preferred — I thought having that choice was pretty cool! Hampton Inn’s was a very typical Hampton Inn breakfast, your typical SAD. The Homewood Suites side of breakfast had slightly different offerings, including fajitas and pancakes, as well as chia puddings and overnight oats. I much preferred the Homewood side.

Note that when I came downstairs just before 6am to check out and scope out breakfast, I did notice there were two people sleeping in the lobby area. I’ve no idea what that was all about and unsure if they were guests or not. One had bags a blanket with her, whilst the gentleman did not. Regardless of the circumstances, having people sleeping in the lobby isn’t particularly appropriate or appealing for a hotel of this standard.

Oh, and I’m a bit of a gym junkie and usually like to check out the gym at hotels I visit, but didn’t have a chance on this particular stay. I did, however, see through the outside window someone using it late in the evening.

The breakfast was tasty and had a decent variety of food. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The valet employee was superb. He had a sense of humor and I never waited more than 5 minutes for my car.

Hotel is super clean and nicer than your average Hampton Inn. That said, I chose to stay here based on the reviews raving about the bartender, Joey. Joey is the absolute man and totally lives up to the great reviews he consistently receives!

El hotel está muy limpio, ya hemos estado otras veces y siempre muy amable el personal, sobretodo las chicas del servicio de desayunos.
El desayuno está muy bien, tiene variedad de dulce, salado, fruta...
La piscina está muy bien para poder desconectar un rato al final de la jornada.
La habitación amplia, limpia, con nevera y televisión. Incluye: toallas, secador, gel, champú, acondicionador, jabón de manos y body milk, que además huelen super bien.
