Cleanliness
8.8
Multiple reviews note the hotel and rooms were clean and tidy; guests repeatedly described rooms as 'very clean' and 'clean and comfortable.'
Service
9.3
Service is a standout: numerous comments about staff being welcoming, helpful, friendly and going out of their way to assist, including memorable reception interactions.
Location
9
Location praised repeatedly: central position, close to venues, attached to a pub and convenient with free/easy parking mentioned several times.
Room Quality
7.4
Rooms are generally comfortable and a good size with comfy beds, but some guests noted dated rooms, warm rooms due to lack of AC and one report of a shower needing refurbishment.
Amenities
6.8
Amenities are limited: multiple mentions of no air conditioning, lack of in-room fridge, few sockets near beds and absence of extension leads; these constrained comfort for some stays.
Value for Money
9.2
Repeated references to very good value for money and affordability, guests explicitly stating they would return because of the price-quality balance.
Food and Beverage
8
On-site/adjacent pub is a positive feature with decent food and breakfast availability for many; minor complaints include UHT milk preference and limited tea supplies/small cups for some guests.
Overall Experience
7.9
Overall stays are positive due to staff, cleanliness and location, though heat/air-con issues and limited in-room amenities slightly reduced some guests' enjoyment.

Great location, friendly staff, let down by facilities.
Pros:

The staff were amongst some of the friendliest I’ve ever seen. Fantastic service!

Cons:

Unfortunately the rooms were too warm & the fans had no way of cooling down satisfactorily. Also the cleaning hadn’t done the rooms justice. Finally plug points were not always accessible by bedside.

Always the best value in town
Pros:

I have to give the staff a special mention. They're always so cheery and welcoming, as well as being efficient. Honestly, so few hotels actually make you feel like a "guest" but Redwings does. It's a little thing but lovely to get a warm greeting after a long journey.

Also, the room I stayed in yesterday seemed to have been redecorated recently. Some of the rooms are older than others but this had a very fancy new shower (which I enjoyed) and an excellent bed.

Not good enough
Pros:

Location, clean and friendly staff

Cons:

No lifts for a baby in stroller to carry up to 4th flour, room was too warm as there is literally no proper air circulation on fourth floor, there should have been an AC in the room, no fridge? All the baby food went off. We had to buy new in the morning because there was no fridge.
