Review of Hampton Inn & Suites Irvine-Orange County Airport
I am submitting this Formal Complaint regarding our stay at Hampton Inn & Suites Irvine-Oranges County Airport (June 4-8, 2026) and the unacceptable conditions we encountered in Room 528 on the fifth floor, as well as the unprofessional and disrespectful treatment we received from certain members of your staff.
My husband and I reserved and paid for a four-night stay at your hotel. During the evening of June 5, 2026, we discovered insects (baby cockroaches) in our room.
Maintenance employee Jose responded and personally observed the insect. He photographed the pest, and we retained photographic evidence as well.
During the early morning hours of June 7, 2026, at approximately 1:00 a.m., I again discovered multiple insects in the bathroom area. This was not an isolated occurrence. I observed insects in the bathtub, on the bathroom floor, and on the ceiling.
What was equally troubling was that hotel staff - front desk clerk/receptionist CRYSTAL, was very rude and as it appears, later attempted to dismiss the information provided regarding bugs in the room; despite photographic evidence confirming the presence of pests in the room. She blatantly stated "that there were no bugs found in the room -- even after viewing the evidence she did not try to offer any help or have empathy for us as guest and CRYSTAL'S disposition at this time displays discrimination: Racists or prejudiced verbiage typically involving derogatory slurs, harmful stereotypes, assumptions of inferiority, or casual jokes that devalue a specific group -- Racists or prejudiced verbiage typically involving derogatory slurs, harmful stereotypes, assumptions of inferiority, or casual jokes that devalue a specific group. It often manifests as micro-aggressions-subtle or intentional everyday slights and in Spanish — or defensive denials like "I'm not racist and not limited to. CRYSTAL should be removed from her position because she does not have good Customer Service skills and her professionalism is not present when dealing with the guest staying at the hotel in which she represents. She should be given a thorough Course in Customer Service to show respect for the customers and she should never discuss any major important information over the heads of English speaking people in Spanish so that they don’t understand what she’s saying, but we did. this is very rude and indignant behavior.
The management of the property John is very unprofessional.
I also received a telephone call from a general manager, as I come to understand was GM John Nacua, shortly before he ended his shift. During that conversation, he did not disclose that he would be leaving shortly thereafter, despite knowing that I intended to come downstairs to discuss the matter in person. He left At 1:00 PM and negated to state that he would be off and leaving at approximately 1:00 PM. He only made one attempt to call me just before he left for the day. This left the issue unresolved and contributed further to our frustration. etc.,
PLEASE BEWARE OF THE CONDITIONS OF THE ROOMS. (Inspect everything before you check in to receive your keys--do a room inspection first).
WE EXPERIENCED BUGS IN ONE OF THE ROOMS AND THE BEDS IN BOTH ROOMS WERE SO HARD THAT MY HIPS HURT ON BOTH SIDES. THE BEDROOM FURNITURE IS OLD IN THE ROOMS. THEY NEED TO BE UPDATED. THE CURTAINS ARE HEAVY AND THEY HAVE TO BE PULLED WITH THE CHAIN, WHICH MAKES IT VERY DIFFICULT FOR A DISABLED INDIVIDUAL. I DID NOT ENJOY MY STAY AND I DO NOT RECOMMEND THE HOTEL FOR ANYONE ELSE'S.

The bed appears that there is a metal frame for the mattress (?) but it sounds tinny when you move in it.
Bathroom sink pressure seems very minimal but shower was great.
Were looking for a place close to the Airport because we had a early flight the next day. This fit are needs. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable and the staff welcoming. Pretty much what you would expect from a hotel near the airport
I arrived back at the hotel in evening after a day at Disneyland. We had an early morning flight so we started to prepare our luggage and electronic devices so that everything was ready for the next day. Of all the outlets and USB ports in the room (including the augmented lamps) only 2 outlets worked and NONE of the USB's did. We had to MacGyver our electronics, plugs and cords in order to meet our charging needs. Not something I wanted to do after a long day at an amusement park. It was one of the most frustrating experiences. I told the front desk person in the morning and he did comp me the parking fee. But still if you are going to offer charging options they should work.
Choices of breakfast are good.
Cristal and Erik are absolutely amazing! Very personable and informative. They have amazing customer service and by far with all my travel they have been the best and the hotel has been great.
We stayed at the Hampton Inn Orange County Airport because our son was performing at a band competition and we were visiting Crystal Cove State Park. The Hampton’s public spaces were pleasant, inviting and well maintained. Our room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. It was super quiet. We did not hear any noise from other guests, traffic or the airport. Finally, their front desk staff was friendly, professional, and helpful. Well, nobody is perfect. There were no regional sports channels on their television service. If you wanted to watch the Dodgers, Angels or Lakers you were out of luck. Finally, they should provide a larger selection of fresh fruit at their breakfast buffet. All in all, we enjoyed our stay at the Hampton Inn Orange County Airport and would return.
WHEN I CHECK IN THE STAFF MAKE ME FEEL WELCOME. I DROVE 7 HOURS AND HE DIDN'T ASK HE JUST GAVE US WATER... I REALLY APPRECIATED IT. HE WAS REALLY FRIENDLY AND RESPECTFUL.
I DIDN'T LIKE THE MATTRESS, I DIDN'T SLEPT ALMOST NOTHING. ALSO I WAS EXPECTING MORE FROM THE ROOM AND I DIDN'T GOT MY EXPECTATIONS. YOU GUYS REALLY NEED TO PUT MORE BIGGER TOWELS.
Super great stay, near SNA airport. Staff is exceptionally friendly, and helpful. Airport shuttle upon request, and breakfast was really good! The rooms are well appointed, quiet and clean. I would stay here over and over. Not to mention the very affordable price. Thanks for a great stay!
