Perfect centre-island location, a hotel where it feels good to be a guest.
Pros:

The breakfast choice was very good and included local haddock, kippers and salmon.
Evening meals were very good, very reasonably priced and service was spot on.
The rooms were very comfortable.

Super location and good value
Pros:

Location of the hotel is excellent as was the room, which had a wonderful view over the garden and water. Dinner was excellent and good value.

Cons:

Breakfast could have been better. No homemade muesli, with boxes of standard cereals, which let it down. Likewise the scrambled eggs were pre-cooked and felt like a buffet. Standard at breakfast could be much better.

Warm soup upon Arrival
Pros:

My flight was cancelled and super delayed and when I finally got to the hotel at 10pm, Check in was quick and the hotel staff had my bags brought to the room (2 flight of steps), and had also organised a bowl of hot soup and some sandwiches for me. Breakfast and dinner was great with choices.
The staff was very hospitable and gave me tips on travelling to the other islands further up North and helped me with booking of ferry.

Cons:

The walking space in the ensuite toilet was very small, and the bath tub took up 2/3 of the space. It was very odd. It is 1 hour drive from the airport, so do note drive times if your out going flight is or is not delayed.

Fabulous location and staff. Wonderful hotel.
Pros:

Wonderful location and striking historic building. Comfy large rooms with excellent en-suite facilities. Downstairs lounge lovely for evening pre and post dinner drinks. The biggest asset of this hotel is the staff. They were exceptional in every way. We were so well looked after. Service with genuine attentiveness and care.

Cons:

Slightly tired decor. Needs a bit of a refresh.
