Very enjoyable in a beautiful location with staff who really care about what they do.
Pros:

Breakfast was good.The location was wonderful enhanced by a delightful team.
Busta House is unusual and somewhere to experience again.

Cons:

Maybe the decoration and comfort in the restaurant could be improved to match that of the lounge.The table surfaces tended to be a bit sticky.

Most enjoyable and comfortable stay. Excellent food and staff

Lovely ambience to the house. Great food. Very helpful staff

Cons:

I would like to see the surrounds with a little bit more TLC. The beautiful ornate gates on the back drive are all but gone. The other two sets of gates are no longer there. It would be such a shame to lose it all . Would be fabulous to see a full restoration. Bones of the garden and existing trees are quite lovely.

Schönes altes Herrenhaus. Die Bar mit den vielen Whiskysorten in der Lounge ist beeindruckend. Unser Zimmer war geräumig, das Badezimmer unerwartet modern. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt. Das Frühstück war hervorragend mit vielen warmen Optionen und regionalen Produkten. Das Personal war sehr freundlich. Auch das Essen im Restaurant war sehr gut, es empfiehlt sich einen Tisch zu reservieren.
Wir waren rundum zufrieden.

A Gem of a Hotel Full of History, Heart, and Unmatched Hospitality

Our stay at Busta House Hotel was nothing short of wonderful. From the moment we arrived, the staff were exceptionally welcoming, attentive, and genuinely pleasant — they truly went above and beyond to make us feel at home throughout our entire stay.

The hotel itself is brimming with charm and historic character. Set right on the water, the sweeping views over the voe are breathtaking, and walking through the beautifully maintained grounds and lovely gardens was a daily highlight.

If you want a special Shetland experience ask for the haunted room when you may meet Barbara Pitcairn
To top it all off, the service was flawless and the food was delicious — freshly prepared, full of local flavour, and served in a cozy, relaxing dining area.

The staff consisting of Greg, Alan and Andrew, Alex, Adele, Dielgo & Eden were super helpful
If you are travelling to Shetland, Busta House is an absolute must-stay. We can’t wait to return!

Pros:

Location and grounds are exceptionally beautiful. Fabulous history, rooms clean and comfortable. Evening meal and breakfast both recommended. Cocktails were also excellent. Staff friendly and efficient but not intrusive. Definitely worth a visit.

A truly fabulous hotel with great accommodation, facilities, staff and restaurant.
Pros:

Busta House is a smart well-run hotel offering great and spacious accommodation, excellent facilities and staff, a wonderful restaurant and an attractive location near the loch in Brae. The best accommodation in our 30 day tour of mainland Scotland, Inner and Outer Hebrides, Orkney and Shetland. Should have stayed there longer. Conveniently located for access to the ferry for trips to other islands- Yell, Unst etc.

Cons:

We stayed only one night.
