Great location, clean and unique accommodation
Pros:

Great central location with restaurants and sights nearby. The room was clean and the staff answered all my questions quite quickly via email or phone. The self pickup of the key via safety box worked out well. I particularly liked the accommodation I stayed in, which was a former church building and quite a unique and charming place with a great view and lots of windows and light. The rooms were spacious and the bathroom new and clean. I only had to get used to the church bells ringing at 6 am.

Bett bequem
Lage ist ansprechend. Zum Bahnhof sind es 8-10 Min zu Fuß

Cons:

Keine Parkplatzkapazität vorhanden gewesen.
Aber in der Nähe hat es ein Parkhaus.

Nach dem Duschen war das Bad geflutet - Gummidichtung müsste erneuert werden

Wunderschönes Altbauzimmer
Pros:

Sehr charmantes Zimmer wie in einem Märchen. Das Hotel ist im Herzen von der Altstadt St. Gallen, besser geht es nicht. Weiter hat das Hotel ein Link für Gäste, wo man alle Infos finden kann sowie Tips zu was man in der Umgebung unternehmen kann. Für kleines Gepäck gibt es im Hauptgebäude Schliessfächer, die man jederzeit nutzen kann.

In practice we enjoyed our room and stay
Pros:

Breakfast excellent- plenty of choice. Room excellent.

Cons:

Complete lack of effective communication before we arrived - we were told we would be staying in an annex and that as many of staff had left as hotel would be closing at end of September there would be no actual staff on reception on certain days. In fact there was a member of staff on reception desk when we checked in and we were allocated a room in main hotel building

Good choice but note the opening times
Pros:

Nice historic building, great location.

Cons:

Nobody there until 4pm so if you arrive earlier make sure you have a 2 franc coin for the lockers. You can’t adjust the aircon.

Excellent location, room a bit small
Pros:

Really good location, right on the square next to the abbey and the old town. Took about 10 mins to walk from the train station. We stayed here on two separate occasions while in St Gallen - the first time we were in the main building, the second time we were in the annex building, but both are quite close to each other. There was also the option to self-check in if we were arriving later than the specified check-in time, which we did once. But that meant having to swipe on an internet page to open the front door & room remotely - useful or not, depending on your perspective!

Cons:

Rooms were not particularly big - narrow stairs and small lift means it's a bit tight if you have a lot of luggage. Limited luggage storage space too.
