L'emplacement génial
I live in Callander part-time and I head to the Waverley for dinner a couple times each month, so lots of experiences at this place. Look, if you're wanting some posh holiday meal you're best to stay down in Edinburgh with the rest of the tourists. But if you want an authentic Scottish experience in a wonderful community- full of real, down-to-earth people, then this is the place. The staff are really straightforward and genuine, because that's just how Scotland is and honestly it's pretty refreshing. Also- I'm coeliac and have never once had to worry about being 'glutened' here; they really take extra care with food allergies. All of the Greeneking-owned pubs have the same allergy menu and protocol, so you can eat safely! So walk in and grab a table like you're coming to eat dinner at an old friend's house- and you'll find me out on the patio with my face in a plate of nachos :-)
Breakfast was great, staff are so welcoming and helpful. Very friendly thanks to yous all 😊
Do think the rooms can be cleaned better not the best if I’m honest.

Location on the Main Street was great
Room was very small, needs updated. Not the cleanest place I’ve stayed. Lots on broken things just making the room untidy
Central location. Free parking near by.
Room was overlooking busy street and pub seating area. Was extremely noisy.
Very clean. Staff lovely. Great beer garden
Nothing. Loved it. Deff be back
OK for an Overnight Stay
My wife and I stayed here for one night, and overall it was perfectly adequate for a short stay.
The room was quite basic, with a small kettle, tea and coffee provided, and a TV with the usual digital channels. It had everything we needed for one night.
The cleanliness was acceptable, although there were a few areas that could definitely be improved. There were some splashes or marks on the walls that hadn’t been cleaned, and the bathroom shower had mould around the seals. The grout also looked like it was overdue for a refresh or replacement.
As we were only staying for a single night, these weren’t major issues for us. However, they may be more noticeable for guests staying longer or for anyone expecting a higher standard for the price.
The biggest downside was the noise. The street outside became very busy from early in the morning, with traffic and nearby businesses receiving deliveries. Unfortunately, this made for a poor night’s sleep and would probably be the main reason we wouldn’t choose to stay here again.
On a positive note, all of the staff we dealt with were friendly and welcoming throughout our stay.
perfect and food also
Udrikkeligt.
Staff really helpful. Friendly.
Nothing.
Enjoyed the pub and beergarden, room was comfortable. Central for everything.
Lovely hotel in great location. Room was lovely and clean with great facilities. Breakfast was lovely. Would be happy to stay again and highly recommend.
All great
Room was airy, comfortable bed, reasonable shower
Loo seat broken, only one socket in the double electrical socket worked. Hairdryer overheated if used on high speed. Nice options on the continental breakfast but coffee was stewed and luke warm, pastries stale.
Lovely big spacious room
