Great Hotel, even better staff
Pros:

The staff, the hotel, the different places you could have a drink or eat in, i.e., the bar ,the court yard the garden the inside court yard nice and relaxing, the food.
A great size room free parking the weather 😉

Cons:

The only thing I can say is the hot room temperature. You did provide a fan, but it was still hot over night.
And the final thing was leaving!!

First time in Belper
Pros:

Location for a friends wedding.
Free parking and breakfast was good.

Cons:

The strong odour in the room of cooking fat was incredibly unpleasant and the higher price paid for the non-standard room was not worth it at all. The room looks nothing like the photos advertised and was in need of cleaner carpets, cleaning of walls and woodwork due to numerous stains.
We didn’t come back to the hotel until past midnight so couldn’t ask to change rooms unfortunately.
Friends stayed in other areas and enjoyed their stay, so I just think you need to avoid room 16.

Painful
Pros:

The proximity to town
The cooked breakfast (additional cost) was good

Cons:

Whilst we stayed towards the end of a heatwave so expected it to be warm, the bedroom was unbearably hot, the was a small fan no air con, a small sash window that overlooked the courtyard and was overlooked from other windows opposite and to the side, with blackout curtains that had to be kept shut for privacy as there were no other widow coverings, this meant that no fresh air could circulate leaving the fan to blow hot air. Managed only 3 hours sleep.
Not a lot of choice on the continental breakfast which was included in the cost

Nice but noisy
Cons:

Unfortunately our room
Was above where the stage was below in the bar and it was very noisy. I think people should be advised of that as soon as you can so you can either be asked to move or find alternative accommodation.

Very good value, & a comfortable stay.
Pros:

Meals served until 9pm which was helpful after a long journey, lovely staff, clean and comfortable rooms, friendly service for breakfast and departure.

Cons:

The continental breakfast was very basic - we decided to upgrade to a cooked breakfast which was excellent. I have some dietary restrictions which the complementary breakfast wouldn't really have catered for, unfortunately.
