Excellent location on the seafront. The hotel was peaceful and quiet. There was a nice selection of foods at the breakfast buffet.
The single room had a weak shower. There were blinds rather than curtains that didn't keep the early morning sun out. Having a fan or air conditioning in the room would have been good.
Great location, very friendly staff and whilst the building needs updating it's comfortable and breakfast was great

Wás stuffy in bedroom as could only open the window a small amount and no fan. Otherwise all good

Bathroom was very squashed. Nowhere to keep toiletries as no shelf. I would not leave my toothbrush in there as it was unhygienic.
No mirror in the bedroom at all. Not even a small one. Drying my hair was very difficult and checking my clothing attire was impossible.
Only one double socket plug which was mainly for the kettle and TV. Always seemed to be unplugging one thing for something else.

This hotel was chosen purely for the shared balcony.

Excellent location, clean and quiet room, good value for money, staff were helpful and we could leave our bags in the storeroom on our day of departure as we stayed in Eastbourne until late afternoon. Will check the Cumberland as my first choice when booking again.

When we arrived we didn’t have our 2 booked rooms on the same floor although this was requested if possible when be booked many months prior.
The lift - there is just one, it is slow, small and seems to have a bit of a life of its own.
My room was well fitted out and had a lovely un-interrupted view of the sea. I visited the hotel during a hot spell and was thankful that my room was provided with a fan to cool the room - this made a big difference to my comfort. The hotel as a whole is well looked after. The hotel is in a prime position on the seafront with easy access to the amenities of Eastbourne.

I like most things about this hotel. I have stayed several times before. The location suits my needs and it has frie days staff. Reasonably priced

The room could have been better. lumpy mattress. no air conditioning. would have liked a walk-in shower
After booking a room, I asked if there was a chance to have one with sea view, even if I thought the hotel was busy. The lady moved us to room with a side view of the sea. When we reached. we have been upgraded to sea view with a balcony as well. We were very happy, felt welcomed and enjoyed the balcony. Staff was very lovely and friendly, both the receptionist who checked us in/out and staff in the restaurant. We had a very nice chat with the man in charge on Saturday night at the restaurant who also helped us with the car park for Sunday. We would definitely go again.
