The hotel was fine. When we walked into our king room suite with a lake view, the room as a whole looked nice. Looking out the window was disappointing. From the title of the room, you would expect a view of the lake, however do not be surprised if you are only staring at the top of a roof and the air conditioning units on it. The small portion of the lake that we could see did not live up to the expectation of the room name. When looking at the room with more details, it was not clean. The walls and baseboards were noticeably dirty, stains on the couch, stained towels and a robe with blood stains on the inside. The bed was noticeably dirty great either. The box spring was visible when looking down at the top of the bed. I believe better bed comfort could be found at another hotel in Austin. The pool was very crowded and we only learned after that was due to the hotel offering day passes to non hotel guests, so don’t expect to find a chair at this small pool that is open to the public. The pool water was also noticeably dirty. Overall the only thing going for this hotel is the history of the building and the aesthetic appealing to the individuals who travel to Austin. I understand why the property was foreclosed and taken over by the bank, this is a hotel that people go to once and never come back to. This is a two star review only due to the front desk employee who was very nice when we arrived. I would suggest the Hyatt regency to anyone considering staying here.
The LINE Hotel has a fun “vibe”! The food and drink options were excellent - from the easy in and out coffee cafe to the upscale restaurants and rooftop bar there is something for everyone. Stayed for a family wedding and relaxed by the pool with kids and adult groups. Location is perfect for easy access to Austin’s food and bar scene. Highly recommend.
The beds in the rooms are the worst I have ever slept on including cots and sleeper sofas. We got virtually no sleep. I could get over the low to the ground platform, which I believe is nothing but a trend that has zero to do with comfort, had there been a comfortable mattress. It was not!
My other issue is the high costs of fees added to the stay; including the $56 for parking the total fees and taxes were around $100 over the room rate.
On the positive side we did have a nice meal snd cocktails at P6. The downside of that is the signature restaurant ,Arlo Grey, is closed on 2 weeknights in a business travel hotel.
The shower was amazing and helped with the back pain from the bed.
The Front Desk personnel were very effective and polite the 2 encounters I had with them.
I do hope that the corporate owner group of the Line that just recently bought the Lake Travis Resort does not change the beds there to similar ones.
Great location and so pretty inside
The elevators took foreverrrr and the beds were so low. Hard to get out of those things.
No breakfast incl. We had it out nearby
The fan did not work in loo.
Wonderful stay, hospitality and property surprised !
Bra läge. Fint hotell.
Hade inte städat poolen. Något äckligt. Ingick inte frukost.
We started in a king room the room smelled, stained all over the carpet and a lumpy bed. The front desk was great to give us an upgrade to a suite. It smelled better but the carpet and couch were stained. There was one robe that might as well have been a lab coat. The room struggled to stay cool. Dog barking in the room across the hall. The hotel looked about 10 years fresher on the website. The elevator carpets were stained and everything was just dingy. The most disappointing was the valet fee to park overnight. $56 a day and no other options except public parking. No where on the booking information did it mention the parking situation. The room was paid upfront on the booking site but the hotel charged a $50+ amenity fee. But all amenities weren’t worth it. The WiFi was weak and the TV couldn’t even keep a signal to stay on.
Nothing at all.
Staff are unapproachable for ALL reasons. Everything is the guest’s mistake or responsibility.
Shower leaked with loud dripping sound in room 307.
Door lock kept making clicking sound every 90 seconds through the night.
Why do I have to pay premium price for Lakeview room when the lake is COMPLETELY obstructed by trees. This is not even a virtual Lakeview room.
Lakeview rooms command premium prices but there is no view of the lake from from level 2 to level 7.
Honestly, not a great experience. Rooms were run down, furniture is cheap, everything feels dirty. Feels more like a hostel than a hotel. Not great.
We came for a wedding and unsure why this hotel was a recommended option. Entering through a dark tunnel to low ceilings and plywood coffee tables in the entrance lobby, we wondered if the dimness was to hide the stains on the worn, makeshift furniture. Elevators are slow and small with stained carpet. The hallways, bedrooms, and even bathrooms have very poor lighting - the lighted mirror I had to ask be brought to the room was rusty and did not provide proper light for applying makeup. The bed, which is almost on the floor, was firm and comfortable; shower was hot with good pressure. Sink was cracked. They did not arrive to service my room until 3pm, which is when I needed to get ready for my event.
Location on the river is its main appeal and the parking-garage patio has a wonderful view of the Lake/River, but is also in need of maintenance and TLC. The hotel charges an amenity fee (which is subsequently taxed)! Maybe since they can legally charge it, they do, but I have no idea what this was for - we had only the basics in our rooms and even the main restaurant in the lobby was closed the whole time we were there.
I would consider it more “in Line” with an economy hotel, and will not return there when we visit Austin in the future.
The Location is perfect for downtown Austin. Many good restaurants and coffee shops in immediate areas. Atmosphere is pleasant and relaxed. Room was stylish and accommodating. The helpful staff rates a perfect score. Front desk made the stay very relaxed and went beyond what should be expected in making my stay a delightful experience.
My room faced Town Lake and provided a great view .
Great location and beautiful atmosphere! I was able to walk places anywhere. Room was clean and all the staff was nice. Food at the rooftop -- I had short rib hash was super yummy!!! Great view, too!!! Speaking of food, I still dream about VERACRUZ--their restaurant!! I literally went there every day to get my juice and tacos! All the staff were super nice!!! I want to give a special shoutout to Poya who resolved my issues so seamlessly and was so amazingly helpful and kind when I had questions/issues with my third party booking platform. DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!
The location was great for exploring Austin. We loved the view of the river and walking along it. I highly recommend the Fat Rabbit for brunch which is on the other side of the building.
The comfiest bed, great shower, friendly staff, terrace bar with views, migas tacos and excellent espresso in the lobby. If you want more you're wrong.
