A special occasion place
Pros:

Such a special place, steeped in (art) history, fabulous light, good balance between modernisation whilst keeping the historic feel. Comfy beds. Fabulous food.

Cons:

Not en-suite - didn't bother us but others might not like. No tea/coffee facilities in the bedroom - although this is provided in the corridors in the morning (be nice if also offered in the afternoon).

Lovely hotel. But quirky and perhaps not to everyone's tastes.
Pros:

Historic associations. Our room in main hotel had a view of the garden and ships in the port beyond. Shared bathrooms were spotless. We liked the help yourself tea/coffee early morning. Breakfast was very good. The lounge was pleasant to sit in during the evening.

Cons:

Breakfast was great but come evening the staff seemed to exist purely to serve the fine diners. Getting a drink in the lounge in the evening was hard work, and no drinking chocolate or decaffeinated coffee was possible, despite these being available at breakfast! Bedroom lacked any covered storage space for clothes (only coat hooks and hangers) so difficult
for more than one nights stay.

En charmerende tidslomme med gode senge og den bedste morgenmad.
Pros:

Det legendariske hotel af ældre dato er charmerende, smukt og lidt slidt. De enkelt indrettede værelser emmer af Skagenstemning. En unik tidslomme fuld af historie. Gode senge, bløde badekåber, venligt personale. Morgenmaden var af høj kvalitet.

Cons:

Der er behov for småreparationer flere steder. Det er lidt uvant med toilet og bad på gangen, men det er en del af det ældre hotels originalitet.
