very good
My recent stay at this hotel was easily one of the worst experiences I've had with the Marriott brand. As a Bonvoy Elite member, I expect basic hospitality, clean facilities, and professional service. This property failed on all fronts.
Front Desk & Service Culture:
Upon arrival, the lobby was completely blocked by tour groups with no staff directing traffic. At the desk, I was greeted with a barked "Passport!" without a hello. When Housekeeping mistakenly took my personal cutlery from my room, the front desk immediately accused me of taking restaurant property rather than apologizing.
Room Standards & Housekeeping:
The design is impractical—there are no hooks or racks to hang towels in the bathroom, forcing unnecessary daily replacements. After a nosebleed, Housekeeping replaced the pillowcase, but left the blood-stained pillow underneath uncleaned. Add rattling furniture and loud internal pipe/hammering noises, and the room was far from relaxing.
Breakfast Chaos:
Breakfast was an absolute ordeal. Extreme overcrowding led to long wait times, and indoor seating was squeezed so tightly that chairs touched back-to-back. During one morning, a pigeon ate off my plate in the outdoor area without any staff action. On another day, staff cleared my untouched food and coffee while I briefly fetched items. To top it off, loud vacuuming started right at the 10 AM buffet shutdown.
Location & Infrastructure:
Calling this location "City Center" is misleading. The bus passes once per hour and doesn't run at all on weekends. The street in front was an active, dug-up construction site.
Conclusion:
A complete service failure across the board. Attempting to report this to Marriott afterwards was equally frustrating due to broken forms and bouncing email servers. Avoid this hotel if you expect proper service.
