Excellent hotel, superb location, Nice atmosphere!
The hotel was suffering from a problem with a piece of equipment. This was very well handled - the staff did all they could and we had a very pleasant stay.

Das ganze Hotel ist deutlich in die Jahre gekommen. Wirkt alles eher lieblos.
Stayed 1 night. Excellent location with amazing views of the marina and the sea in the distance. Staff very friendly. Lovely room (room1). Very clean and spacious with doors onto a large balcony. Huge bed and well appointed bathroom. Lovely well cooked breakfast. Could have easily stayed longer.

It was a stay of frustrating contrasts.
The actual room accommodation was FIRST CLASS. So that's the UP ! The rooms were terrific.
The DOWN bit came in several ways, making the overall stay one that I wouldn't repeat!
In a phone call I was advised by the hotel not to book direct with them but with booking .com. This is where the problems started:
1. booking .com told me, right at the end of the booking process, that the Small double room I wanted [and which the hotel had told me was available, was no longer available] so I had to restart the booking process.
When I got to the hotel they told me that I'd managed to book twice! and that the Small Double had been available.
2. when we tried to book in for dinner we were told that on Sundays [when we were staying] they do a deep cleaning of the eating areas and so the kitchen was shut! When I enquired why this information was not stated within the information on the hotel I was met with an embarrassing silence.
3. The advertised lift wasn't working and hadn't been for some time. The lift had been an essential for us since my father in law is very elderly and going up and down stairs is hard for him. No reason was given as to why this information about a broken lift was not made plain in the hotel's booking and website.
4 I couldn't get hot water for my shower in the morning. It was just tepid at best!
So, a very Up and Down experience with the overall feeling that there was more down than up. Such a shame!

Breakfast was a joke., if you’re gonna start breakfast at 8 start it at eight, Dont start preparing for breakfast at 8.. also have staff that want to be there.. Tuesday’s girl obviously shouldn’t work in hospitality., the rest were great
The size of the room and the facilities within were alot more than we expected
To be really critical , the code input for the room doors was a little cumbersome, and some of the flooring and a wall in the bathroom could do with repair, but it was still all clean.
Hotel is in a lovely location.Clean rooms and comfy bed.Lovely view from the room.Staff were friendly and helpful.
There was only 1 glass and 1 spoon for a double room.We only realised we had a continental breakfast included because we read the welcome book.You wouldnt be aware if you hadnt read the welcome book.
Service and attention was top drawer the food, especially the breakfast was exceptional and red hot
Room decor was a bit dated and the curtains were hanging rather than hung, lots of clutter under the bed
The room was spacious and clean, in a nice quiet area. Bed was comfy and shower was good,.
The Visitor manual in the room could do with updating re, details of room key card

Good location
This being my second short stay at the Boat House Hotel, I was extremely disappointed by the frankly rude reception I received from the bar/reception girl. Whilst I accept I did arrive 20 mins before the 15:00 check in time was given a very abrupt unwelcoming “ Check in time is 15:00 “ ! And then proceeded to smirk at her colleague at the bar as if that gave her great satisfaction!
When I did finally check in just after 15:00 having waited patiently outside the same girl just handed me a piece of paper with numbers on without any eye contact or without any explanation which I assumed was the code for door. So not a very welcoming experience and perhaps I would suggest the said girl has some training in customer service skills as first impressions count ! Other than that the room was clean and the location of hotel perfect.
