Nothing to dislike
Stayed here before but this time, the standard has gone down, it was one of the hottest days this year and the hotel phoned me to ask what time I would check in and I asked if my velux windows (common in this hotel) could be opened but with the blinds down so as to shield the room from the sun, this did not happen and the room was +80 degrees, the room fan did not work so asked for this to be changed, it was changed for a small fan, didn’t make any difference to the overall temp. I stayed out until 10pm to avoid the room, when I got back at 10, expecting it to be cooler, I found the bathroom radiator to be on full heat with no way off turning it down or off apart from shutting the door. Spent the whole night way too hot. The bar staff were friendly but were selling out of date beer or unclean lines, I had 2 different beers and couldn’t finish either and ended up going somewhere else, I also noticed that the tables took ages to get cleared after people went. Management of this place are to blame as it’s very obvious cost savings all over the place.
Everything
Location and balcony. Staff did resolve issues raised and were pleasant about it.
Comfortable bed and excellent shower.
No light in entrance to room. Dirty windows and dirty ash tray on balcony with lots of cobwebs on balcony. Under staffed for bank holiday weekend. UHT milk was off. Initially given wrong room code.
Strange to have to check in ar the bar, which was very busy. The building is in need of complete refurbishment. Beautiful location and views. Had a brilliant night's sleep.
Check in wasn't as expected. We queued at the bar. The hotel looked tired. Staff were working very hard and were pleasent. I had an idea of what to expect from my stay by other reviews. Even though, I would stay there again, as its the only hotel in Hythe. Such a shame the Hythe train and pier have gone into liquidation.
The room was beautiful and exceptionally clean
The location in the Marina was amazing with lovely views. It was peaceful and calming. It's fun to watch the big ships coming in and out of the channel. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the food in the restaurant was filling and really tasty. They have gluten free options on the menu. It is a short walk to Hythe which is a great little town.. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back.

nette Lage
Room was lovely, light and nicely decorated.
The meals were also good value, freshly cooked and served HOT!
Staff were all friendly and helpful
Really good value for money.
The car park spaces were just too small but the hotel has a section of a council park so not the hotels fault
The Boathouse hotel is perfectly situated in an attractive marina close to nearby cruise terminals at Southampton. Rooms were spacious and comfortable and very clean. The food at the hotel was plentiful and facilities were very good. All staff were very pleasant and helpful. I will certainly revisit in the future.
The stairs were a bit difficult for us oldies but there is a lift to the first floor for disabled guests.
Large room with good view. Good location
Breakfast started too late for me
Super zentrale Lage, wunderschöner Ausblick auf Marina und Meer. Unterkunft topp. Freundliches Personal. Sehr zu empfehlen.
Bed was comfy
Asked for a bath in room was told I couldn't have a room with one. Fridge was a little noisy. Shower was loose on the wall and not the cleanest.
Room was delightful with great view across marina; quiet location; continental breakfast included in price was fresh and bountiful.
All good!
Good service and friendly and the bedroom brilliant. We will come back again. Xx
Lovely spacious room, comfortable beds, large bath and separate shower, clean and tidy, large balcony with a beautiful view, good breakfast choice and staff were very accommodating. Would definitely stay again.
