Great location .
Stay included if requested tickets too High force waterfalls . Also tickets for Raby castle & gardens
Staff were helpful & friendly . Great food .
Hotel very unique & downstairs dining very spacious
We were in room 7 , standard room with our
Small dog . It was great for one night . Very small room & cupboard .
Perhaps a small set of drawers instead of the tall round table !
Friendly staff, great location for the Pennine Way
Evening meal burger was a little bland
A lovely country hotel in a beautiful location - highly recommend a walk to the waterfall.
Staff were very accommodating and both dinner and breakfast were delicious - would highly recommend!
Arriving from over the desolate high moors George, the owner, could not have been more helpful. A choice of beautifully furnished rooms then a short walk down to the waterfall, followed by an excellent evening meal.
Don’t be put off by the austere exterior.
Pleasant comfortable hotel right opposite High Force which you can visit free if you are staying at the hotel. Large room with lots of windows and quiet despite being right on the roadside. Really spacious bed. Tea and cake after our walk. Dinner was traditional pub food - steak, fish and chips etc which was well cooked. Breakfast had omelettes and other choices as well as the full English but no yogurts or chopped seasonal fruit like strawberries. Staff were really friendly
Room was a bit grubby - stained carpet in the entrance way, mouldy tiles and really dirty arms on the chairs and the bathroom smelled of boiled vegetables despite the strong room oil - would have given it top rating if not for these points. Also the restaurant was empty by 830 pm on a Saturday night so no atmosphere.
staff super friendly, the falls and raby castle included, food amazing and that bed omg what a dream bed

Great hotel, staff pleasant and very accomodating, rooms clean and beds very comfortable, breakfast and evening meal were very good, would definately recommend this hotel
There's was nothing i disliked about this hotel
Breakfast was exceptional as were the staff.
Nothing, it was great.
Great location. Lovely outdoor area. Friendly and helpful staff. Striking decor, clean and well thought out rooms.
Nothing
The dining room offers an extensive evening menu with a similarly good cellar. I wanted an early breakfast and they were able to offer a hearty ‘breakfast sandwich’ in addition to the cold table.
Housekeeping in my room left much to be desired. The space beneath the single divan has not been hoovered for ages and I found a sewing needle lying on the carpet near the head of the bed. Fortunately I did not step on it, but an obvious danger.
The staff were very helpful and welcoming.
Nothing
Nice place. Nice food. The lady on the bar was fantastic.
Room was small. Like very small.
Location and character
The very friendly staff
It was all great
Nice hotel with bar and restaurant. Very close to waterfall and other towns to visit the area. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Dog friendly hotel. The food was good and great breakfast choices. The area is very calm and quiet, ideal to relax.
The pillow was too soft and the window was making a bit of noise with the wind.
Location is perfect if walking Pennine Way. Really close to falls. Food was excellent.
Room was very small considering how much we paid.
Staff were super friendly and helpful, room was excellent location amazing food excellent. a bit pricey.
