Fabulous location. Communal areas really lovely.
The only issue was a really poor shower!
Lovely staff and great location
I enjoyed the old classis feel and design of the hotel, it was generally well kept and pleasent.
the bath was pretty grubby with paint splatters dirty marks and the taps had a big chunk of mould behind them, all the ceiling were a patchwork of repairs so looked a little tired in that respect
Liked it so much we have rebooked ⁹
Stay was to short
Bed was comfortable and room was clean . We didnt get breakfast because we had an early start.
The was a bit too warm and there was no adjustment for heating .
Good
Space in room.
Absence of any chairs in room.
Speed of service in restaurant.
Shower Disappointing
Great staff, perfect location. Generous breakfast.
The shower was only ok
It was a lovely hotel with very friendly staff
The breakfast wasn’t great the quality of the food was below what I would expect from such a lovely hotel
Central position, helpful staff,.comfy beds
Needs.more refurbishment and in some cases better clean.
Fantastic location. Really good to have parking across the road which was discounted for hotel guests.
Breakfast was a little pricey at £19 but was very good.
The location (brilliant for visiting the cathedral and chain library), room, and carpark.
The only thing we disliked was the weather!
Good. Pity the restaurant was closed
nothing
everything
The hotel is lovely. An old fashioned building with large, comfortable rooms. Decorated well and very clean. Location is great. Nice selection of tea/cofee/biscuits. The windows open fully and there is a fan to keep the room cool. The bar and restaurant areas looked lovely but we did not use them.
We thought the breakfast price of £18.50pp was expensive so we did not eat at the hotel. For hotel guests I think this could be a reduced rate - as a group a lot of us went to the Cornish Bakery across the road (I know you can’t compare a pastry with a full breakfast - but had the price been cheaper at the hotel about 10-15 more of us would have eaten there since we came as a group)
