The location of this hotel is perfect, right in the old town with all the fabulous bars and restaurants on your doorstep, the beach is a 5 minute stoll in the other direction. Rooms are very quiet, despite being there during a festival. The roof top pool isnt really a swimming pool a such - more a place to cool off but exactly what was needed - I dont tend to swim lengths while on holiday. Staff were outstanding - very attentive and helpful. I only had food by the pool for lunch, but it was delicious - very fresh and tasty.
Nothing I didn't like - the pool area is possibly a little small but it was only completely full for part of one day I was there.
The location is outstanding and is definitely the hotel’s biggest advantage. The views from the room and the rooftop are beautiful, and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was spacious and well designed.
Unfortunately, the overall experience did not justify either the five-star rating or the price. This was one of the most expensive hotels on our trip (over $1,000 per night), yet it lacked many of the details and amenities you would expect from a luxury property.
The room didn’t even have a luggage rack to properly open a suitcase. The room itself felt rather plain, with little attention to design, and some furnishings, such as the minibar refrigerator, looked outdated.
The minibar included a bottle of champagne but no champagne glasses, which seemed like a surprising oversight. Basic luxury amenities such as a shower cap, dental kit, shaving kit, cotton swabs, and similar toiletries were not provided.
The biggest disappointment was the water policy. The hotel provided only one 500 ml bottle of filtered tap water per day for two guests. When we asked for another bottle of the same water, we were told it would be charged. For a hotel at this price point, this felt unnecessarily restrictive and out of place.
The rooftop terrace has spectacular views, but the furniture is quite ordinary and doesn’t create the premium atmosphere you would expect. The pool is also very small.
Finally, the wine selection at the rooftop bar was surprisingly limited. Even more disappointing, both red and white wines were stored and served at the same cold temperature, which prevented the wines from being enjoyed as intended.
Overall, this is a nice hotel with an unbeatable location, but in terms of amenities, attention to detail, and value for money, it falls well short of what I would expect from a five-star luxury hotel.
Geweldige locatie, mooi dakterras met erg mooi uitzicht, super vriendelijk personeel
Niks
From the moment I checked in with the water and Sparkling wine, offerings, the incredibly capable and kind front desk, team, my beautiful Room, and the attentiveness of the staff, especially with helping me book very Exclusive restaurant reservations. 10/10 would recommend and would absolutely stay here again. I will definitely be back to San Sebastian.
Beautiful contemporary hotel set within a beautiful period property.
It was serene and beautiful. A beautiful retreat from the wonderful chaos of San Sebastián
Faultless from start to finish. Arrived early and they checked me in. Was welcomed at the door. Took my suitcase. Lovely sliding automatic doors at entrance/ exit. Beautiful decor. Was offered sparkling wine. Check in was faultless. Room was beautiful and quiet. The rooftop area is stunning. The bar staff are attentive and friendly. The interior is spotless and chic. Location is a stones throw to old town and the beach. Breakfast was fantastic. Presented with a menu and a plethora of choices. Again very friendly beautifully delivered presented and tasty. Really comfortable bed and I am definitely coming back. Thank you for everything.
Excellent breakfast, nice rooms with comfy beds and nice linen.
Disappointed with the pool (more of a large plunge pool) and size of terrasse.
Rooms were decent. Ours was spacious and in decent shape but the shower leaked all over the bathrooms every time we used it and some of the lights were broken. Lights were fixed after requested. The cleaner left our soap empty and only refilled after requested.
Oscar at the front desk was very helpful. The rest of the front desk staff could not be bothered to help or even acknowledge us.
What a beautiful hotel in a perfect location. The breakfast was great too.
This hotel is located in the old town so walking to all the pincho's bars is so easy.
Bit tricky to find as its in the walking only area but once you work it out you will be pleased.
Rooms are beautifully appointed. We had a corner room with view over the beach.
Staff are excellent.
Breakfast is in the front lounge area which is very good as everything is cooked to order.
Not a cheap option but a special hotel.
We would happily return
