Beautiful location which exceeded expectations. Grounds delightful, views from bedroom stunning. Staff very helpful, decor delightful.
Towels were not changed and towel rail didn't work so wet towels. Little things like no marmalade for breakfast, no milk in the room, cold coffee at breakfast. Food was good but expensive. £499 for three nights expensive but views were tremendous.
The location and views are stunning. Peaceful escapism and tranquillity. The staff are really lovely - friendly, professional, nothing's too much trouble. The food is very good and well presented. The room was very comfortable, spacious, light and airy and had an impressive panorama of the bay. Its a warm, welcoming, family owned and run independent hotel, not part of a chain and the staff commitment to making my stay enjoyable was impressive.
The decor and furnishings in the room and public landing areas are very dated. The main guest lounge has been updated with neutral decor and lovely homely country house furnishings which is great but the rest of the hotel needs significant investment as it doesn't appear to have been touched for forty years. It didn't in any way detract from my two night stay as everything is comfortable and clean and the level of investment needed on this scale is prohibitive for an independent, family-owned hotel. The food is very good but the prices are, in my opinion, too high for this part of Scotland. They are higher than the honeypots in the Highlands which get away with it because they can. A shame because I understand the rising costs but the prices still need to be competitive to make guests want to eat there.
Location is quiet and tranquil, off the beaten track. Views are stunning. Very friendly staff.
The room was not clean. Dust under furniture and in corners of room. Kitchenette in room but no plates or cutlery to use.

From the moment you arrive, it’s clear the hotel is under staffed. Dead flowers in the tubs and windows give the wrong impression of this fantastic hotel. Our room was upgraded, which was fantastic, only let down by the bag of dog poo left on the room patio. Having said that the stay was great. Breakfast was ‘meagre’ but adequate. We will be back

It felt like stepping back into the 1980s, very dated. Strange set up for evening meal. No ambience music? Breakfast was one sausage, one piece of bacon, one egg, tasted ok though
OMG...what a place, lovely room the view was breathtaking 😍 beds were really comfortable 👌 and the staff molly bent over backwards and especially Erin wow she was just absolutely 💯 % running around like a wippet said to her loads off time dont you ever stop and rest for a young girl she did everything always polite and helpful what a treasure for the place someone will take her from there one day if your not careful 100%....diamond in the making thankyou all and hopefully see you soon......

Great remote location, eccentric tasteful and individual decor, easy parking, lovely people running the hotel, fish was delicious,locally sourced and well cooked, great chef. Great views of the sea. Great local walks but not for the faint hearted on the cliffs. Lovely room 10. No music played in the hotel which is fantastic. A Lounge you want to hang out in an and read a book. A quiet fridge in the room. Bed has a decent mattress. Feels old but well cared for and clean.
Reliant on eating at the hotel unless you want to travel by car a a fair way. Wine list limited but with quality.
