Unfortunately, the stay did not meet our expectations, especially considering the price.

The biggest issue was the bed: the mattress was extremely hard and uncomfortable, to the point that we struggled to sleep properly and both experienced back pain. We asked for an alternative but were only offered a very thin aloe vera topper, which did not help. For this reason, we decided to leave one night earlier.

The included parking is also quite inconvenient, located around 1.2 km away outside the village in an open grass field that is neither fenced nor secured.

Breakfast is acceptable but repetitive. More importantly, although it is officially served until 10:00, by around 09:15–09:30 staff were already cleaning and clearing everything, without replenishing warm food, and even the coffee machine was being cleaned. When we mentioned this at reception, the response was simply: “Yeah, of course, that’s normal.”

We also had a safety concern regarding the elevator. The doors did not appear to have a functioning obstacle sensor, or at least did not react as we would expect. On two occasions, while the doors were closing, we were only able to stop them by applying considerable force or by placing the stroller between them. Travelling with a toddler, this made us feel uncomfortable and concerned about safety.

Room cleaning also starts very early, so noise can already be heard from around 07:30.

The furniture is very dated, and even the TV remote had missing buttons.

Overall, the price is far too high for the comfort and condition of the hotel. Our families have been coming to Gatteo Mare for around 35 years, so we know the area very well, and there are more renovated and comfortable options available for a similar or lower price.

Nachteile: Wir wohnten im Dreibettzimmer 215. Der Balkon befindet sich zwischen zwei Küchen. (Unter unserem Balkon befinden sich die Dämpfe und Abzugshauben der Küche unseres Hotels. Seitlich davon liegt die Küche des Hotels „Flamingo“.) Tagsüber herrscht auf dem Balkon unerträgliche Hitze und es gibt starke Küchendämpfe; frische Luft gibt es nicht. In diesem Zimmer gibt es überhaupt keinen Internetempfang (weder WLAN noch Mobilfunk). Die Matratzen sind sehr hart. Da ich an rheumatoider Arthritis leide, habe ich um eine Matratzenauflage gebeten, doch man hat mir eine so dünne und federleichte ausgehändigt, dass sie mich überhaupt nicht vor der Härte des Bettes bewahrt hat. Selektives Verhalten des Personals. Zu den Italienern war man äußerst freundlich, man scherzte und lachte mit ihnen. Uns gegenüber war die Haltung angespannt und kühl, als müssten sie uns wegen unseres Geldes einfach nur ertragen. Völliger Mangel an Flexibilität und Menschlichkeit. Die Abreise war um 10:00 Uhr. Aufgrund einer schwerwiegenden Behandlung (Methotrexat-Injektionen) und einer Allergie darf ich mich nicht der Sonne aussetzen. Das Zimmer war nach unserer Abreise leer (was an der Rezeption bestätigt wurde), doch für eine Verlängerung bis 15:00 Uhr wurden von uns 50 Euro verlangt. Wir haben zwei bezahlte Mittagessen versäumt (wir hatten dies im Voraus angekündigt und nicht einfach versäumt); da wir kein zusätzliches Geld hatten, boten wir einen Kompromiss von 25 Euro an – erhielten jedoch eine entschiedene Ablehnung. Ich möchte außerdem hinzufügen, dass es im Hotel keine Klimaanlage gibt (deshalb hatten wir nach einem Zimmer gefragt).
Zudem sind die Liegestühle am Strand teuer (25 Euro pro Paar mit Sonnenschirm pro Tag).

I cani possono accedere solo nella stanza, nè in spiaggia nè nell'aria colazioni cosa che quest'ultima non mi era stata comunicata prima.
Lo staff non è stato molto gentile a seguito di regole che non ci sono state comunicate.
La stanza era molto piccola, con un solo misero filo per stendere le cose sul balconcino alla francese.
Sembrava più una stanza ad uso singolo, la stanza è sprovvista di frigo bar.
