Koselig overnattingssted som absolutt kan anbefales
Pros:

Herlig frokost-i, og da vi måtte reise grytidlig en morgen, laget eieren en sandwich matpakke til oss. Koselige folk på puben ga en fin atmosfære. 2 deilige middager med hjemmelaget mat.

A great base in the Peak District
Pros:

A superb inn, in a fantastically beautiful part of the world. Mark and his team were friendly and knowledgeable, and made us feel at home even though they weren't actually open when we visited - somehow our booking made it through on a day they were supposed to be shut.

Unfortunately, we weren't able to have dinner and a few pints at the pub, but Mark was happy to whip up a tasty cooked breakfast in the morning.

The room was spacious and comfortable with decent facilities, and there's a great garden to relax in. Sadly we were just passing through, but there are plenty of stunning walks and trails to explore nearby.

Pros:

Mark and Gary were fabulous hosts. They couldn't do enough in making us feel welcome. Superb breakfast. Suggest you try the Sunday Roast as one of the best we have had. Fresh locally sourced produce, too.

Lovely pub, fantastic welcome
Pros:

Amazing service, we stayed with a planned Kinder Scout walk the next day (Hottest day of the year!)
The breakfast was fantastic with great service, and Mark really made sure that we were prepared.
As it had been the bank holiday, food was limited Monday evening but that is totally understandable, and we enjoyed a lovely walk into nearby Hayfield for dinner

A good place to stay in the Peak Dstrict.
Pros:

The welcome from the landlord was first class and breakfast was very good.

Cons:

We arrived on a Monday and the Lantern Pike is not open Mondays other than for rooms. We had to go out to eat (good recommendation from landlord) and could not get a drink. This should have been made clear on the booking site.

Mark did his best to ensure stay was pleasant just baffled why we didn't get Twin room we booked ?
Pros:

Breakfast was excellent and the host did his best to make our stay a pleasant one

Cons:

upon arrival at Lantern pike hotel .....despite my long ago booking being made clearly for a twin room ....i was advised that the twin room was not available .....and my option was to be accomadated in a double room with an air bed ...or a call could be made to an alternative hotel in glossop for possible accomadation . As it was 5.30pm ....and my friend and i had travelled from Orkney by ferry departing at 11,45 pm the previous night and had driven down for 7 hours to get to Langton pike ...we were exhausted tired and felt the least stressful option was to go for the double room and air bed ? Not great
