The Grand Hotel

Wi-fi signal came and went
Shower was only a dribble and was scalding hot
No mirror in bathroom so we had to buy one
Lack of power sockets in bedroom

Slight smell in reception but other than that room and stay was great

Breakfast was advertised as in price but there was none.Staff non existent,but there was one elderly gentleman ,Mike who was very helpful. He dealt with the booking,and contacted the owner who lives in London,to allocate us clean room. Eventually we got a room ,clean towels and bedding but the whole place. needs a desperate makeover

Not clean to a standard expected, no toiletries replenished , no fresh linen ,

Its all fine at the current prices

Not to be on the second floor I had trouble getting up the two flights of stairs

No staff around 3 nights stay the room was never serviced on arrival no one to welcome us their for nothing explained hotel was in the process of decorating felt 100 pound for each night the hotel didn't justify the price at all after it was a room only

The place felt more like a halfway house than a guest house/hotel,and in our opinion it should not be advertised on your site,yes the pictures look ok but in real life it is far different.

On arrival , there was no one at reception to check in , just a piece of paper asking people to call a number to call for someone to come to us, which I called . When the gentleman got to reception he asked if my name was on a list also on the reception desk which it wasn't so I was then asked to contact another number which took several attempts to get an answer. Once we had been given our keys, we made our way to the 3rd floor to the room allocated for us .... I opened the door and saw an unmade bed , dirty used cups , rubbish in the bin and a used towel on the floor of bathroom . This room was also too small for our booking of 2 adults , 1 child under 2 and 2 dogs . There was no cot for the child to sleep in . I again contacted the phone number to complain about the room and was told someone would provide a cot a clean bedding . We left to get food and on arrival back at the property we found a travel cot outside the room door and clean bedding on the floor next to it . Nobody had been in to clean the room for us so we still had no cups to make drinks , used bedding and towels and was expected to do this for ourselves. The travel cot when attempted to be put up didn't work properly and one of the sides would not stay up so this was not suitable or safe for a small child to sleep in . I made the decision that it would be safer if my friend and his child stayed in the bed together and I would seek alternative accommodation but due to late hour was unsuccessfu and I ended up sleeping in the car with the dogs. During the booking process there was no where to include the dogs so was expecting to address this at reception on arrival but obviously with no one at reception this was not the case. I was then told they wanted to charge me a fee of £25 per dog per night , which I find very expensive for saying that the booking for 2 adults and 1 child was £59.

Nothing it was all really good, just noisy neighbours but that’s not the staffs fault

1.Keys to enter premises did not work. I had to bang onto the window to alert other guests to allow me entry.
2.Shower only worked on hot, cold did not work
3.There was no staff to deal with any queries

Everything even the host did not know what day of week it was hardly coherent I am disappointed that this hotel is on a site like this we had 2 singles beds 3 ppl I am disabled slightly also so comfort is very important and owners did not care they wanted moreiney with I did not have
