A comfortable stay in a fantastic location in Kyoto
Pros:

I really enjoyed my stay at the Kyoto Riverview House Kyoraku! The location is fantastic, on a quiet street next to a pretty little canal, but just a few minutes' walk to the busy downtown in one direction and historic Gion in the other direction, across the Kamo River. I stayed for six nights with two friends in the Superior Apartment, which had a view of our quiet street. We really appreciated the comfortable living room, with its table and couch, for relaxing in the evening after a day of adventures in beautiful Kyoto. My friends stayed in the bedroom with the double bed, and found it very comfortable, and I stayed in the bedroom with the tatami mats, and slept on the futon, and found that very comfortable. It was definitely the most comfortable futon I slept on while visiting Japan. We enjoyed the bathroom, with its spacious shower and bathtub, and appreciated how the apartment was very clean. The washing machine worked well and our clothes dried on the drying rack provided within about 24 hours (the washing machine has a drying cycle, but this is extremely slow, so the staff recommended that it would be faster to use the drying rack while running the dehumidifier nearby). Both the wifi and the air conditioning were reliable. The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful. I highly recommend staying at this lovely place!

Cons:

Be aware that the second bedroom, with the tatami mats, is part of the living room, with sliding wooden walls to separate it from the living room. The wooden walls are a series of wooden bars little gaps in between, so even with the walls closed, it is possible to see a little bit into the second bedroom from the living room, such that the second bedroom lacks the privacy of the main bedroom. This was fine for us, and I found this convertible second bedroom very fun and comfortable, but if you prefer a bedroom with solid walls, you might not like this.

Pros:

L’emplacement est idéal, proche des transports et dans un environnement calme.
Nous étions avec notre fille de 18 mois et la chambre séparée et la cuisine nous a été bien pratique. Un lit parapluie et une chaise haute nous a été mis à disposition.

We absolutely loved our time here! It is centrally located and highly walkable, yet perfectly quiet
Pros:

The staff here went above and beyond. I made an error with our booking, but they accommodated us perfectly, securing an alternative room for the first night and handling the luggage transfer to our original room the next day. Compared to typical tight Tokyo accommodations, these units were quiet, incredibly spacious, and felt very safe with good security doors. Waking up to the refreshing river and mountain views was amazing, and having breakfast delivered to our room each morning was a great touch. Highly recommend!

Très bien au cœur de Kyoto !
Pros:

Emplacement top, bel espace dans l’appartement.
Personnel très sympathique et professionnel.

Cons:

Petit déjeuner un peu décevant.
Lits au sol un peu juste niveau confort mais c’est sûrement une histoire d’habitude.

Kyoto sur un plateau
Pros:

Le personnel aux petits soins, la chambre absolument géniale pour une famille de 4 entre tradition et confort. Les équipements proposés en adéquation avec les besoins et quel emplacement ! A 2 pas du Gion 4 des grandes artères commerciales et à peine plus du Nishiki market. Cet endroit est au top 👌

Cons:

Allez, pour vraiment chipoter le sèche-linge est un peu poussif mais est ce vraiment ce que l’on recherche dans une location ?

Clean and spacious townhouse in heart of Kyoto
Pros:

It was very clean, spacious, and in a great area. The staff were nice and helpful as well.

Cons:

It felt a bit dated, and our key didn’t get us into the door at night so we had to keep asking a staff member to let us in.
