Being dedicated users of hotel booking sites we were completely unaware that the Wilderness Hotel Inari was a full service resort because other than an occasional outdoor activity photo on these websites, most of the views were of rooms, the lobby, the restaurant, and lovely Inari Lake. We were therefore completely surprised during our winter visit when we encountered a large fleet of snowmobiles parked out front, guests clad in snowmobile suits, an adventure booking desk, and a big screen that listed all the activities for the day. Indeed, it felt like we were the only visitors there solely for the accommodation, which is, in a word, superb. The common spaces are impressive, our room comfortable, well sized, and nicely decorated (we stayed in a Wilderness Room), the staff friendly, knowledgeable, and professional, and the restaurant one of the best in the area. Practical info: There is lots of onsite parking, but if one is without a vehicle, the hotel can be reached by intercity bus. Local taxis are available, the walk to town is only 3.0 km, and there is a paved bike path beside Highway E75. The hotel also offers a shuttle service to some activities. Activities can be booked, subject to availability, at the lobby activity desk (and because we come from a winter country, the very unique “Meeting the Reindeer” excursion was the only activity we booked). If one is on an Aurora Boreals search, the hotel offers snowmobile excursions to dark areas, as well as 10 Euro wakeup calls should the lights be spectacular overnight. Although there was significant snow on the ground and 60cm of ice on the lake when we visited end-March, it was the end of the winter season and the number of staff members, and the list of available winter activities was shrinking. Our accommodation included breakfast, but full board is also available. The hotel offers many package deals that cover a wide range of activities, but if you want access to them you need to book through the hotel’s own website rather than through a booking site.
Highly recommended! Friendly and helpful staff. Diversed activities everyday with professional support. Peaceful yet vibrant environment. Comfy and warm room that you can observe auroras directly. Overall a nice and memorable experience!
Staff are really nice. When we're in trouble that we couldn't receive a confirmation from a taxi company, a hotel staff tried to solve the problem as much as possible.
Thanks to the kindness. We finished our trip without any troubles.
Aurora cabin is great, however there're no wi-fi, restriction of limited shower time.
they're a bit inconvenient. So I think that staying basic room is good enough.
Either way, I definitely recommend staying this hotel.

Amazing hotel
All perfect
Lage, Zimmer, Frühstück, Restaurant
Love the location, easily accessible with a car. The log cabins were not too far from the reception. A very quiet and nice place to catch the auroras! Gave good variety of food for dinner, although some repeats here and there. Staff are very friendly and warm!
Some sleds for kids were broken and not fixed.
Amazing stay.
We stayed 3 nights, full package.
Food is amazing, people are nice, activities are memorable.
I recommend.
The facilities and the food are beyond excellent
The tours are very expensive
Location and lounge area.
The hotel changed the lounge area opening time reducing to 23:00 instead of 1:00 am.
The hotel changed/reduced the kitchen menu without notice leaving us with no options of snacks during the day.
Posizione
We have been so lucky ! A week enjoying Finnish Lapland from the Inari Wilderness Hotel ! Wood is everywhere outside and inside. The hotel building is a very modern architecture, fully oriented towards the Inary lake with large windows, you enjoy an incredible view from the restaurant. Nice and cosy places to sit around, even outside with a great fireplace. The room was spacious and confortable. Food is generous and of quality, each meal with a different proposition. The staff - all outdoor activity guides and into the hotel lobby and restaurant, for customer service - demonstrates maturity and professionnalism. Any question is welcome. The collective working ambiance feels very positive, the staff - one by one, no exception - cares for you at anytime ! You quickly understand that the natural environment here is truly wild : you rather respect and comply with this wilderness; the good news is that the outdoor staff / guides are highly skilled, they know how to handle the situation for each activity. Our weekly program has been very well planned and timely scheduled. All our activities started strictly on time, any necessary equipment is provided to you (clothes, snowmobile, snowshoes, ….) and is pretty new and perfectly maintained. Included the buses and cars picking you up. All that said, your job becomes finally so simple : you just have to enjoy ! During this incredible week vacation there, we both enjoyed a lot. And at the end you feel somewhat honored to reconcile this experience with the Saami fundamental statement : « « « These places are older than any person. These lands are our children » » ». All is in : respect, commitment, transmission. HIGHLY recommanded indeed !
