Location, great staff and excellent quality breakfast.
The room was far too hot. The hotel gave us a fan, but it was ineffective- they need air conditioning.
Location was excellent. Staff very efficient and friendly. Being able to park on site and not compete for a space made a big difference.
Ventilation in the room was poor so the room was uncomfortable to sleep in. The carpet in the room was badly stained and should have been changed some time ago. The shower cubicle needs a safety mat, otherwise very slippery and potentially dangerous, especially for old guests.
Great room overlooking the sea, private parking and the staff couldn’t be more helpful.

Perfect location
No air conditioning and impossible to open some windows. It was very hot in the room. The shower cubicle was tiny and difficult to use. Also water pressure very low.
Position
Water in the shower tray did not drain away properly
Location fantastic.
Price of breakfast too high.
Lovely clean rooms , breakfast was excellent and staff friendly and welcoming
Nothing
Location
The shower was rather small
Location, staff were welcoming and friendly - rooms were spacious and comfortable - nice see view
Good location, rooms are large and clean.
İt says there is free parking and they have 3 parking amd charging units for EV cars. They reserve EV parking slots to non EV cars and did not allow me to park or charge my car. They were not helpful at all. There are different breakfast options. We selected vegetarian large portions but not tasty enough. İt was incredibly loud because of the live music next to the hotel. Windows are not isolated enough to stop that noise. No aircondioning in tje room. If you open the windows too noisy if you close the windows too hot
The staff, particularly Ms Yanu, were so welcoming and helpful. The hotel did not skimp on, for example, brand of tea and coffee - all good quality Clipper stuff. Very comfy bed.
Although we were in town on a super-busy weekend (Folk Festival), the hotel did not offer any car parking for guests. Not convenient!
On arrival to checking out we found the staff welcoming and very friendly, the room was clean, tidy it had everything we needed for our stay and the bed was comfy. The location was perfect for our visit at Sidmouth and we would return.
The only small negative was the shower soak away was broken and just sat on top, so it was easily kicked off every time the shower was used. This is just being picky, but it was a nuisance to keep putting right.
Right on the seafront
Nothing
The Elizabeth hotel is a grand old building on the esplanade that has been tastefully modernised. It not luxury but it is comfortable.
At times it can feel like cost has triumphed over quality like the cheap bed head lights. Also the the door and window to our Juliet balcony needed replacement.
One thing our room did have though from
The balcony was the best view in Sidmouth. Waking up in the morning throwing open the windows and being able to look up and down the promenade and out over the beach was invigorating. A room with a balcony or Juliet balcony is a must.
The staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful, breakfasts were good. We had dinner one night the food was ok but like most hotels for dinner the place lacked atmosphere.
Parking is a problem. There is a small car park at the back but you need to book it with your hotel booking. It’s important to get in as parking elsewhere can be difficult as the official car parks fill up quickly.
The view from our room
Nothing.
The Hotel room was good and comfortable beds and quiet.
The welcome could have been more friendly.
The young man at Breakfast was not very welcoming and too quiet. The breakfast was slightly overcooked.
