We really enjoyed our stay, our suite was very clean and comfortable. The hotel staff were very kind and helpful, we just had a service issue during our breakfast and I made a note on the receipt for the management, that is why I not give them five stars! We will definitely stay here again. Thank you
Clean , professional and accommodating
Nothing
The hotel was clean, smelled good and had a light and airy feel to it. The tub in the room was massive. We chose the poolside room. Having an outdoor seating area connected to our room was the best. All of the staff we interacted with were extremely pleasant.
The free local transportation was an absolute delight for us. It gave us the ability to explore the local park, zoo, museums, etc.
The in house restaurant had good food, but for me personally, it was a little pricey. The other guests were definitely more on the fancy side compared to us but we didn't feel completely out of place. Might have been the fact we had a pizza eating first grader with us and the people walking by were generally in evening wear.
My only criticism would be the pool itself. I think I would have still chosen a poolside room just for the semi private sitting area but the pool was I believe at a four foot depth the whole length across. My child couldn't touch and isn't a strong swimmer yet so we had to hold him the entire time. He normally wants to be in the water 24/7 but after a few hours on day one, he didn't want to use it anymore. Happily enough the local park had an amazing splashpad we spent the day at.
Beautiful location, near the medical district. Short distance to NRG field and a short distance to downtown Houston. Great dining at Safina.
This is the 2nd time I have lodged at this hotel. I will be back.
This is a very nice hotel and great location for the Medical Center Area, which has numerous specialty hospitals, including MD Anderson Cancer Center, Children’s Hospital, etc. Tha staff is very thoughtful and well trained in dealing with both guests just visiting the area and those that are their for treatments, they watch out for you, help you as needed, check on you if they haven’t seen you in a while etc. The location is also great as it’s near the Museum District and Rice Village it’s shops and restaurant options..
Great hotel near Medical Complex in Houston. Great rooms and very good restaurant, especially for a hotel
The television casting did not function. The front desk immediately dispatched someone who was unable to get it to work. The dispatched person indicated he would contact the “it guy” who would soon come to help. That never happened. So I was without casting. I was disappointed that a service commitment was ignored.
Also, housekeeping neglected to re-stock the facial tissue, which was empty. Fortunately we were able to use toilet paper for that purpose
Definitely not four star service.
We did however find the breakfast quality and service to be outstanding.
My room was ready on both of my visits this month. I appreciated being able to check in a bit early. I enjoyed the added benefits of the pure wellness rooms. However, I was disappointed in the low water pressure. One room had moldy grout behind the sink in the bathroom and both rooms had dusty baseboards which I felt to be unacceptable for a pure wellness room. The desk staff were friendly and professional but did not seem to be willing to do anything beyond the basics required of them. I expected someone might offer me a cart as they watched me struggle back and forth with my belongings from self parking. That did not happen. I was just quietly observed by multiple employees. Despite my discussion with one of the employees regarding my discounted medical rate and the following weeks upcoming visit, no mention was made to me that I had failed to get the discounted rate for the second visit. I did feel like she must have noticed that and just didn't mention it. It's these kind of small gestures that really make a big difference. Despite these things, I will likely return.
Housekeeping was truly excellent. Regina is amazing. Staff extremely friendly and competent. Outstanding facilities and cleanliness.
Overall, I thought it was a nice property. After having a ling removed at MD Anderson, I did request some extra comfort for the bed seeing that the mattress’s were very stern. The assistant front office manager took care of my concern, and when I returned from the hospital, a mattress topper had been added to my bed. I was very appreciative. I feel that the sheets could have been a softer fabric as it seemed more on the low quality end. One other thing that I was disappointed with was ordering food for room service. I was in no position to leave my room and every single meal ordered, although very timely, was delivered at a cold/luke warm temperature. I was surprised to see the rooms did not consist of a microwave.
Fabulous hotel with excellent bedding, AC that works well and a great bathroom setup. It’s my go to hotel for Houston.
Super convienient location - everything we were trying to get to was very close by. Check in and check out we’re both super quick, with staff being both friendly and efficient. My room was clean and spacious with no issues whatsoever.
I also think the key cards are so adorable on a personal note :)
The Intercontinental was a comfortable and clean stay, very close to the medical campus. It was walking distance with sidewalks to MD Anderson, as well as the surrounding hospitals. The staff was attentive, friendly, and helpful. We stayed club level; the amenities were well maintained and the breakfast was nice! Overall I’d highly recommend.
I spent extra points to have pool access for my son that wanted to be in the pool only to find out that the pool was closed. I wouldn’t have spent the extra points if I knew in advance that the pool was closed. I told front desk about it and all they could say was sorry.
La ubicación
La contratar la publicidad decía que incluía el desayuno de 2 adultos y dos menores, al llegar al desayuno, solo incluía desayuno de dos personas, el estacionamiento también lo cobran, en la publicidad decía que estaba incluido en el costo
Everything was great .. the concierge Alessandro was excellent the girl who checked me out was not … I was also charged a night of parking when i shouldnt have
We booked this as part of Amex's hotel program. The bellhop was the first great impression. He came over and offered to bring up the luggage from the car, and he did a great job. We noted the presence of and pleasant ambience at the various dining areas, like the on-site restaurant and bar.
The room was nice, though a couch (even without sofabed) would have been nice in addition to the beds which were excellent. The desk and chair were great for getting some work done, but a second desk and chair would have been a nice option, too. Everything was spotlessly clean throughout. The fitness center overlooks the pool, which is smart and nice to have for safety purposes, like if one spouse wants to work out while the other swims and there isn't anyone else at the pool. We did not hear any noise from neighboring rooms.
The hotel offers pure wellness rooms, which I forgot to request, but I was happy with their standard room and did not feel like I missed anything with that.
This level of hotel is obviously more expensive than lower-brand Hyatts, but you're paying for the additional services and conveniences, including the above-mentioned bellhop, laundry service (as opposed to having machines for you to do that yourself) and the room service options for even private in-room massages.
The location was right near the medical center, and was fairly central to various points of interest for us. Due to the location (presumably), parking is relatively expensive, and is at the garage attached to the building. There is an elevator to the lobby from the garage and then a different elevator that goes from the lobby to the rooms (and the other way, of course).
