Exceptional staff, relaxed, yet competent. Great food, comfy beds and beautiful surroundings.
Pros:

The staff were exceptional. Went above and beyond in their friendliness and ability to deal with what was a fairly complicated booking. Couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The whole hotel was managed with a relaxed air of efficiency and capability. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was an excellent size, the beds were comfy - even great pillows. The food was delicious and always quick to arrive and they easily coped with 12 of us, plus a few extras for brunch all with different room numbers and a variety of orders. The parking was convenient and plentiful even in the middle of town and a drink on the lawn as the sun was going down was perfect. Would give this hotel 10 stars if I could. Best place we've stayed for an awfully long time, possibly ever!

A good one night stay - thankful to the desk staff for rearranging the dates
Pros:

I had managed to book the wrong night when we arrived. Sat to Sun rather than Fri to Sat.
Fortunately the staff managed to find a room of the equivalent standard as the booking. A lesson to me to be more careful in the future.
We ate in the restaurant, the food and in particular the service was excellent. I can't praise the restaurant staff highly enough, it made for a very pleasant evening.

Cons:

Pre dinner at 6:45 there was such a queue for drinks at the bar. After waiting for more than 15 minutes we went through to dinner without getting anything.
The hotel should really consider putting on more bar staff at busy times.
Otherwise there was no aircon in the room we had. Not sure if that applies to the whole hotel or just the circumstances of our rearranged booking. The rom was very hot and difficult to get a breeze though as some windows didn't open.

Pros:

Great location in town centre, with parking. Staff very helpful & pleasant. Beds were very comfortable & rooms nicely furnished.
Hot beakfast choices were excellent.

Cons:

We were staying during during a heatwave, unfortunately with no air con it was very difficult to keep cool & sleeping was virtualy impossible. Each room had a fan but sadly that wasn't sufficient. Having said this it wasn't really anything the hotel could remedy, UK weather!!!!

Our Booking.com average for every room booked on this platform having a view over the rubbish bins and healing /cooling ducts.

Too many stairs and no lift. Long walks with luggage ( we regretted turning down help
With luggage to our room. Don’t! This hotel has narrow corridors and stairs up and down where no room should have stairs..)
We also disliked that the charges were fluid and we did not know what we were paying for the room until we checked out. Quite expensive for what we experienced .

An excellent hotel with great food.
Pros:

The hotel is ideally situated in the town centre and good value for money. Food in the restaurant was top-notch and the staff were very helpful. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel.
