The location is excellent, and the staff are friendly and helpful. There is a lovely coffee shop and bakery, along with a great gym and pool.
The numerous events made it difficult to fully relax. The presence of some hairs in the bathroom was a bit disappointing.

I asked on the 2nd stay of stay to clean the room, pressed clean room button before 2 times while leaving the room for a long time, no one came to clean
Here’s a stronger version that keeps the tone firm while avoiding potentially risky accusations stated as facts:
I recently stayed at the Grand Hyatt Bogotá and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience regarding billing transparency and customer handling.
The hotel charged my credit card after checkout for taxes that, according to my reservation confirmation, were already included and prepaid. What made the situation worse was that the charge was processed without my authorization beforehand, and I had to proactively contact the hotel to ask for a receipt and clarification.
During our conversation, the hotel acknowledged they failed to properly explain the issue at check-in, yet continued insisting on the additional charge despite the written confirmation clearly stating that room charges and taxes were included in the original payment. Instead of resolving the matter professionally before charging my card, the burden was placed entirely on me to dispute and investigate the situation afterward.
I also checked directly with airport customs officials regarding hotel IVA practices in Colombia and was informed that tourists, diplomats, and generally non-residents paying with foreign credit cards are typically exempt from these taxes. In this case, the taxes appeared to have already been prepaid through the reservation, yet the hotel attempted to charge them again separately afterward.
Additionally, the receipt sent by email did not even clearly identify the charge as IVA, but under a different description, which made the entire process feel extremely unclear and questionable. The lack of transparency surrounding the charge raises serious concerns about the hotel’s billing practices and where exactly these additional charges are being allocated.
Because of this situation, the matter was appropriately reported, and my financial institution ultimately blocked the charge.
I understand hotels must comply with local regulations, but guests should never be surprised with post-stay charges that contradict their booking documentation. Transparency and proper communication are essential, especially from a luxury hotel brand.
The property itself is nice, but this experience seriously impacted my trust and overall impression. I hope management improves their billing practices and communication with international guests in the future.
Habitación, ubicación en instalaciones
1. Baja calidad de la comida, comida y atención de room service muy malo. Nadie contesto, nadie llegó para recoger los platos y vasos usados.
2. La atención telefónica del cuarto es nula. En ocasiones llamamos 5 veces a todos los servicios disponibles buscado que nos atendieran, no obtuvimos ninguna respuesta en ninguna línea. Así sucedió en las dos noches.
3. El gimnasio es descuidado, usuarios descalsos. Esto incomoda por el susto de un posible accidente. Niños menores de 12 años usando los equipos. Incomoda por un posible accidente.
4. La calidad del desayuno ha bajado mucho. Ofertas con bandejas sin la comida. Por ejemplo se anuncia tahini y es solo puré de garbanzos, si con otros platos.
5. Al check out me indicaron que no era posible entregarme la factura, que más tarde la enviarían por correo, aún no me ha llegado. La necesitaba en ese momento para verificar los cobros y entregarla en la empresa.
La relación calidad precio es pésima, lo que prometen es un engaño.
La comodidad, la buena atención, la ubicación
I traveled to the GH Bogota for a work conference with my siblings. Our experience at the property exceeded my expectations in every way:
1) At the time of check in on the app I received an offer to upgrade to a suite which we did. Somehow they did not have record of my upgrade (note to self always take screenshots) but thankfully the staff was accommodating and they honored the price I was quoted. If you have the option to upgrade it’s well worth it (especially the access to the lounge). I don’t have status with Hyatt and so this was well worth it in my opinion.
2) The suite was beautiful - clean, lots of natural light. Housekeeping came daily and did a superb job (don’t forget to bring cash for tipping).
3) The lounge was one of the best aspects of our stay. The breakfast was delicious with an abundance of fresh fruit options. Shout out to Gerley for the delicious daily lattes!
4) If you like to work out when you travel like I do you will not be disappointed - the gym had it all. Full weights, machines, cardio equipment. You have access to the pool and the steam/sauna/jacuzzi/hydrotherapy circuit. It was fantastic. My brother and sister got massages that they enjoyed (also much cheaper than in the states)
5) We dined at both restaurants in the hotel and were not disappointed.
6) The staff were very friendly and accommodating.
We truly enjoyed our stay.
