We visited the hotel for lunch and were absolutely blown away by the experience. The food was exceptional from start to finish — beautifully presented, full of flavour and clearly prepared with a real passion for quality. The chef deserves huge credit; every dish was outstanding and made our lunch truly memorable.
We also had the pleasure of meeting the hotel manager, who was absolutely wonderful. He was incredibly pleasant, welcoming and informative, and took the time to make us feel genuinely valued as guests, even though we weren’t staying at the hotel.
The combination of exceptional food, fantastic service and such warm hospitality made this a really enjoyable experience. It’s clear that a great deal of care and pride goes into the hotel and its dining experience.
We would highly recommend visiting for lunch and will definitely be returning. A huge thank you to the chef, the manager and the whole team for such a lovely experience! ⭐️
The Rees family.
My husband and I have just enjoyed a fantastic night at the Grand Central. We were fortunate to be there for the Fleadh and we were looked after like royalty by all the staff. They made us feel very special. The entertainment was wonderful including some incredible Irish dancing by the Head Concierge and his 5yr old daughter
Breakfast was wonderful special shout out to Catherine and Noel the chef.
Look forward to returning soon
Toiletries were lovely. Comfy pillows.
Breakfast was buffet style and not very warm. Cold plates too . Normal standard of food that any 3 star hotel would serve and not what I was expecting from a 5 star hotel .
Location
The queue for breakfast. It was badly managed and tables weren’t being cleared
I normally always love staying at this property but I unfortunately I didn’t this time
I held back from submitting a review as I know how busy the staff had been during the fleadh, but a few things I wasn’t happy about as it wasn’t the normal usual standard. The staff where more than accommodating for us leaving our bags early and we arranged late check out as I explained it was a crazy rush for wedding prep etc. I rang the hotel twice that day on check in and explained that due to the traffic we wouldn’t be able to check in until later. That was fine after two attempts the guy just said he will leave a note to not put us down as a “no show”. We then arrived around 12 that evening and the night porter was having my a smoke and we didn’t want to disturb him so we let him continue until we could then be brought in to check-in. Understandly that probably was the only chance he could have had that evening to take a break. I just thought maybe another member could have brought us in. That was fine we where then check in and then got told we couldn’t have late check out, only for me to ask him to check the notes that we already had it arranged. Thankfully we got it. Room was perfect everything to the usual standard. We ordered room service breakfast, which to be completely honest it was not to the usual hotels standard, the hot food arrived fine but the coffees absolutely freezing and spilt everywhere on the tray. I didn’t ring down to complain as the member of staff already seemed flustered so we just left it. During the morning after breakfast we decided to get ready, we had been in and out of showers etc and housekeeping knocked on the door and I called to say hello and she came on in. She apologised and I explained that we have late check out til 1pm. I felt a bit uncomfortable I’ve never experienced house keeping walking on in before so I was slightly taking back on it.
Room was luxurious
The rooftop bar is lovely but maybe a little over rated and the serving efficiency could be a lot better and less restrictive. Staff were quite stuffy about guests being able to go to the bar. If service had been quicker or clearer this wouldn’t be needed.
La chambre très grande confortable
Belle vue du 14 eme étage
Efficacité du personnel
Le petit déjeuner un peu restrictif pas de fruits jus d’orange industriel pas d’œufs pochés pas de légumes viennoiseries si on arrivait à les avoir
Had a terrific holiday at the Grand Central. The atmosphere in Belfast at the moment during the Fleadh with music around every corner is incredible, it is so lively and people of all ages are having a great time. When we arrived for check-in at the hotel the manager was there (we didn’t realize we were speaking to the manager at the time) and he suggested getting our rooms swapped to an accessible room which made the world of difference to my mum who has limited mobility because of her age. Accessibility features in the room like handrails in the bathroom were very helpful. The manager also spoke to us another day when we were sitting in the lobby to ask how we were getting on and all the staff are also very friendly. The food is delicious, including good choice for room service food and we also had some lovely meals in the Grand Cafe restaurant. The rooms are excellent and the hotel is at a superb central location. It is well worth going to the bar on the 23rd floor for incredible views of the city. I would definitely stay here again.
Excellent hotel, conveniently located, friendly welcoming staff, great service, quality restaurants, highly recommend.
The rooms and location
