Road works but no fault of the hotel
Big room
the sofa bed was a mess, and the bathroom had a musty smell. I saw a large rat by the bin right outside my bedroom window, so that stayed closed.
Overall good
No one on reception on arrival woman was really busy on her own had to wait for keys but overall good
Staff were helpful and polite
Bed was not made up for my son, no blanket, sheets or pillow. Only 1 towel, 1 hand towel, 1 cup and 1 glass. Bed was very uncomfortable. There was 3 of us that stayed the night.
We had a nice room with a decent view which was very quiet. I suspect it's noisy with house building during the week though. The hotel is currently in a pleasant setting - but not suitable if you are looking for a night out on the doorstep.
It was all fine. There were roadworks outside but we got through OK. Slightly confusing as you enter - the hotel is beyond the other venue.
The room was pretty good - very clean. Definitely exceeded by expectations based on the price.
Roadworks outside have been there for 9 months (apparently) and mean a diversion of several miles down a road that tells you its closed - directions were poor. There was no running water for my entire stay; not their fault but when you lose all running water, you'd think the least you could do is buy some bottled water for the rooms. Nothing! The bar staff were lovely but nothing from management, no apologies, no gestures of good will. Also, re. breakfast, a full English is advertised for £6.95, why did I have to pay £15.50 for a couple of croissants and a coffee??

Roadworks 3 mile diversion to get into. Also the price kept changing. They tried to charge me an extra £4:00
Reception should of been open till 10pm we got there at 8pm and it was shut. The phone number they left nobody answered. The room hadn't been made up properly, no tea, milk only one glass and one towel.
It was cheap and, if it hadn’t have been for the road works, right off the main road we were on.

It smelled of weed because people were smoking it outside our window on the ground floor. Not the hotels fault I know but still.

no one said the road was closed when i booked... why wasnt i told?? i would have still booked but it took me 20mins detour to get to you.
The corridor outside our room had a problem with waste pipe leaking and carpets were being treated 24 hours a day. The smell was awful. But it did not permeate our room which was important to us. The room was fine although toilet is very low. The property benefited from having a restaurant and bar on site. The breakfast was very good. We had fish and chips both nights but it was over cooked.
