Wunderschönes Boutique-Hotel mit tollem Design und erstklassigem Service, bei dem keine Wünsche offen bleiben und an das wir noch lange zurückdenken werden. Besonders hervorzuheben sind neben den sehr schönen Zimmern die besondere Freundlichkeit des Personals, das tolle Frühstück am Pool mit Blick auf den Strand, die hervorragenden Spa-Behandlungen und das exzellente japanische Restaurant auf der Dachterrasse. Während unseres dreitägigen Aufenthalts in der Off-Season im Sommer war das Preis-Leistungsvermögens super. Absolute Empfehlung!

Enjoyed my stay overall; best suited for those looking for a quiet, relaxing stay within the property.
Pros:

* Very spacious and comfortable room with a large, comfortable bed.
* Beautiful ocean views and a lovely balcony.
* Very peaceful and quiet at night — being able to hear the waves from the room was one of the highlights.
* The property offers a lot of privacy and has a beautiful beachfront setting.
* Overall, the service was friendly and good.

Cons:

* Check-in: I arrived around 9:30 a.m. after an overnight flight and completely understood that early check-in wasn’t guaranteed. However, after being told I had to wait until 2:00 p.m., I was disappointed to still wait another 20 minutes after the official check-in time, especially having had no sleep.
* Spa: The 90-minute signature massage cost approximately USD 75. The therapist was good, but the spa itself felt run-down for that price and for a five-star property. The setup/equipment felt dated and the linens had a lingering massage-oil smell.
* Cleanliness: Generally clean, but some towels and bed linen had visible marks, and there were drain flies in the bathroom.
* Maintenance: The corridor immediately before my room consistently had a foul/wastewater-like smell, although I didn’t notice this elsewhere in the property.
* Bathroom privacy: The main balcony blind is automatic, but the bathroom privacy blind is manual. This was fine for me as a solo traveller, but could be a little tedious when sharing the room with family, as the blind needs to be manually lowered and raised each time.
* Service: Staff were friendly and service was generally good, but sometimes inconsistent. Breakfast could be quite slow during busy periods.
* Overall: These are individually small issues, but together they fell short of what I expected from a highly rated five-star property.

Unforgettable Visit, beautifully designed hotel with warm staff, fresh food & breathtaking views.
Pros:

Breakfast was always freshly prepared with so much love, we genuinely loved the variety. During our 15-day stay, we never once felt like we were having the same breakfast twice, which made every morning something to look forward to.

But what truly made the experience special was the staff. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, we were greeted with nothing but genuine smiles, warmth and kindness.

This made our stay so special and unforgettable.

Unforgettable experience
Pros:

We had a lovely stay at RIFF Hikkaduwa! The staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming, and the hospitality was wonderful. Communication was excellent from the beginning, and the team was always helpful and attentive.

The food was delicious, and our room was beautiful, very clean and comfortable. The view from our room was absolutely amazing! 🌊❤️

Thank you to the whole team for making our stay so enjoyable and memorable. We would definitely love to come back!

I would happily stay again
Pros:

Beautiful design hotel. Even though it wasn’t great weather we were able to enjoy the pool and the beach. Breakfast was great with the best selection in all of our Sri Lanka travels. We particularly liked the healthy bowls. Enjoyed the True Blue restaurant and all staff were good with dietary requirements although it would have been nice if they had some soy or almond milk available. The pool and beach guys were very attentive and also warned us from going in the sea which was nice to know they are looking out for their guests. Nearby we enjoyed the Madu river safari and the tsunami museum.
