Worst Experience in a hotel ever.
Pros:

The room was clean.

Cons:

Unusable room for sleeping between 6am and 4:30pm on day 1
Renovation noise was unbearable.
Worst ever hotel experience.
The manager didn’t care about our situation.
No prior notification of renovations informing us we will be affected, which would have given us the opportunity to either cancel due to the inconvenience or accept it and put up with it.
Manager refused to cancel after first night because it was booked through booking.com, even though we paid at the property.

Stay elsewhere until the renovations are finished
Pros:

The room was OK and the pool and gym were good. Good location in South Brisbane.

Cons:

The check in was long and noisy with continuous jackhammering right behind reception area until 3pm. Staff were fair but obviously working under very trying conditions. If I knew the works were so extensive and noisy I would have booked elsewhere. The restaurant was not available between sittings to meet people. The rooms are OK but nothing compared to the standard of the next nights on the Gold Coast.

The staff were very accommodating, great location and facilities
Pros:

Friendly staff, good facilities, smart room design, great bathroom. Appreciated being able to leave our luggage for a few hours before we caught our plane

Enjoyable and would stay again
Pros:

The staff were very helpful and moved us to a higher room for the view. The included breakfast was good food.

Cons:

For my personal preference the pillows were too hard. I understand the building works going on are necessary to continue during the day, however I did worry about the reception staff and the high noise levels for extended time they were exposed to. Too late now but could reception have been located in another area?

Pros:

I had received some bad feedback from others who had stayed previously but I did not find any of that to be true and thought all the facilities and staff and location was great

Cons:

The breakfast (room service) was not great to be honest. The hot food was cold and it wasn't very appetising so I did not really eat any.

Excellent city break.
Pros:

Excellent location, easy walk to galleries, theatre, restaurants, shopping.

Cons:

My kids were unsure about the bathroom as it is open to the room, but we quickly figured out there were sliding doors to fully enclose the bathroom area.
