Parking easy and flexible. Check in was easy. Everything explained well. Bathroom condition was good and bed and pillows comfortable.
Bedroom window hard to move was open on a wooden block. Cups in bedroom dirty with rings around top and same at breakfast. Bath taps dripped all night even when tightly off. No fan in bathroom was very stuffy and warm in there. Poor quality continental breakfast. Bananas all black and inedible. poor selection of cereals, nothing healthy.
Really enjoyed our stay at this old traditional pub which had overnight accommodation of a high standard.
We were made welcome on arrival and staff were all helpful and friendly.
Breakfast was continental style, varied and plentiful.
Would definitely recommend and would stay again when next visiting the area.

Excellent location right in the heart of Newbury. Clean tidy room. Great mattress, friendly staff and although the room overlooked the road, we were not bothered by any noise.
No shelves in the bathroom and the shower was very weak. No plug by the mirror so couldn’t see to dry my hair. We stayed in room 2 but was unaware before we booked that there are steps in the room to access the bathroom and bedroom areas. Although the room was clean overall, the inside window frames were dirty and full of cobwebs.

Was quite hot in the rooms. Even when the outside temp in the morning down to well below 20 it was still quite warm. Would be nicer in the winter. AC would make it a 9-10.
The pub was lovely only had a drink in there as we ate elsewhere with friends. The rooms were nice, tidy and clean
There really isn’t anything I didn’t like. Just two small things the shower screen on the bath wasn’t high enough for the height of the shower head, so it flooded the bathroom floor. Also I found the pillows uncomfortable but that’s a personal thing so not a criticism.

Bed was comfy with super soft and fresh bedding. Breakfast had everything needed to be continental. Staff were all very helpful and friendly
Room was warm during the hot days we stayed. Although a fan was provided, maybe adding a net/privacy curtain on main window so window could be open wider as room faced main street.

Plenty. Private details of mine kept on bar top in full view of anyone in the bar. Hard to get hold of staff. Light switches are in the wrong place in the room and the room has a step in the middle of it. Noisy. Very hot. Very small opening window and fan just blew warm air round. Bar closed early even though it was world cup final day. No front desk. When I sent email explaining these issues it was ignored and not responded to at all.
