El personal de recepción muy amable
Escaleras para llegar a la habitación. En general anticuado. Baño muy anticuado. Atmósfera poco agradable. La cercanía a la estación de tren puede que no ayude…
Tim the receptionist was very nice and accomodating. The hotel is very close to the station and everything is closeby. You can walk to city center.
- elevator out of order
- the floor, the wall and some sheets were stained
- no cold water and the first night the shower water was boiling hot and we had to shower in another room.
- no A/C because it's an historical building but even with fans the bedroom was...an oven
- we changed our room the second day but it was still really hot with a mold smell
- Breakfast is not worth it
So great city, but the hotel unfortunately was not at the same level. The hotel staff did try to help but maybe a gesture would have been nice.
Great location
No air conditioning also lift was out of order
Location great.
Staff goes beyond the call of service. Friendly and accommodating to every need.
Rooms spacious and clean.

Centrally located. Lovely big room.
Nothing. All good.
Great location
No air conditioning
The hotel staff were very polite and helpful. The location is extremely convenient if you’re only visiting for one day and arriving by train. This was particularly important to us because as soon as you walk out of the railway station, you can immediately see the hotel. For that reason, the location worked perfectly for us. It’s also within easy reach of the main attractions.
Unfortunately, that’s where the hotel’s advantages end.
The hotel appears to be far too old and in serious need of renovation, because everything felt outdated, from the lift, which was not working, to the furniture and facilities in the room.
We were told that the lift was either too old or kept overheating. As a result, we had to go up and down a steep staircase several times with a small child, while I was six months pregnant. This was exhausting, especially in the heat.
There was no air conditioning in the room, which we expected, but even the door was extremely difficult to open and close. Overall, everything in the room felt old and worn, and the bed itself was quite small.
The biggest problem for us, however, was the child’s cot. It was literally half a head shorter than our child. Before staying at this hotel, we had stayed in six other hotels, and every one of them had provided a proper extra bed for our child, usually a small fold-out bed with a mattress.
Here, I ended up having to sleep on the floor because there was simply no other way to accommodate all of us. This was especially frustrating because the room was large and there was more than enough space for an additional bed.
It is super central and staff are every friendly and super helpful
Great location and very central
Tim, at the front desk, was absolutely lovely. When I couldn't find the car park, he came out and rode with me, helping me negotiate into the tight space. He then went above and beyond by carrying my bag in for me! He explained everything I needed to know about the room, fan availability (it was rather hot when I arrived), breakfast schedule. He always had a smile on his face that made me know this place is welcoming. He said they were in the process of renovating rooms but mine was absolutely fine. It was clean and quiet. Not the greatest view, as it was over the rooftops behind the hotel, but that's part of what made it so quiet. I didn't realize the room came with breakfast and it was marvelous. Nothing was too much bother for the staff, as I asked for an egg with my pancakes and that's exactly what I received. Food and tea were hot, breakfast bar included a good yogurt, croissants and rolls, cereal and muesli, fruit, and juice. Staff here were lovely too. If you take the train to Bath rather than drive, the hotel is directly across the street. Railway hotels can be a bit iffy but this was very nice and just a few minutes walk into the center of town. I walked as far as the Royal Crescent and did so easily within a half hour from the hotel.
Mattress was quite firm, which I usually like, but my sore old back would have preferred more comfort.
Getting to the hotel was a bit complicated because of all the road construction and diversions. Not the fault of the hotel but it would have been helpful to have been informed prior to arrival. GPS took me straight to Manvers Street but only as far as public parking due to blocked roads. I circled back around a couple times and eventually made it to the hotel.
The warm and friendly welcome at reception
I didn't like leaving....
Das Preis- Leistungsverhältnis stimmt in keiner Weise. Das Zimmer ist teuer und bietet null Komfort. Es ist muffig, die Teppiche alt und es hat weder Fan noch Klimaanlage.
Friendly efficient staff, great location
Old fashioned room in need of repairs and black-out blinds (unable to sleep after sunrise, which is very early during June!)
Breakfast - V. Good
Room - Adequate.
Location - Would have been good if no road works been effected.
Lack of advice re road works which hampered finding the hotel and lack of parking lot to enable discharge of luggage.
