Breakfast was fine range of cooked and cereals
I just love the vibes here. Local family that owns it, I believe. The manager (the owner's son) is super sound, and so are ALL the staff. I stay here every time I cater at the castle, and I just appreciate the welcome we get, and they always recognise our wee faces. In fact, a bar lady even recognised me on the phone the other day. You won't get that at a Hilton. No Hilton bashing, of course.
Nothing
Staff were mostly very Friendly and the food we had was really very good.
The Hotel is not just 'tired', as has been mentioned in other reviews, it's more than severely exhausted. The room we had wasn't worth anywhere near the money we paid. Hospitality is not confined to just having 'nice' people running an establishment, it's also important that essentials such as Toilet-brushes, showers with close-to decent water-pressure, non-filthy windows and a working TV bigger than an Ipad, are provided. Breakfast ruined by one of the cleaners declaring loudly that 'if I drink any more tea, I'm gonna piss masel'. Nice wee town but stay elsewhere in Duns if you value modern standards. Like stepping back into the 70's.
Frühstück Zimmer sauber. Nettes Personal
Everything was great and will be back soon
Friendly staff made to feel welcome
Bit dated needed better lighting in rooms no space to put anything
Located in the centre of Duns, the hotel is convenient and has everything you need, including a good menu and bar. The breakfast is very good value for money. The rooms are simple, but have everything you need.
The hotel could do with some sprucing up. The communal carpets are very worn for example.
Staff were very friendly and welcoming.
Meals were good quality.
In conclusion, good value for money.
The staff here are superb, nothing was too much trouble a real credit. The hotel was lovely a real gem.
Staff.
Bathroom had seen better days but for the price, good value.
As other people have said the Ladies working are top rate! Unfortunately I didn’t get her name but one girl in particular helped me as Im disabled and was really caring and considerate!
The room was a fab size, with 3 beds which is very much needed as the heat was horrendous. The beds were comfy and linen was clean. The breakfast was amazing!!! Sausages are top notch! It’s not often you get a family room and two breakfasts for under £100! Well worth the money.
The property is a bit tired looking and I was wakened by someone doing work outside our window at 7.45am. The room could do with a few tradesmen in to spruce the place up but for the money I can complain that much.
Great staff, fabulous food
The shower
