The place was peaceful
Sofas were gruby and stained,
Didn't include cooked breakfast in the high price to stay
What a beautiful place. So peaceful and stunning surroundings. Our apartment was stunning, spacious and beautifully decorated. The staff were all lovely, it was super dog-friendly, and they make an excellent Martini, which is hard to find in Suffolk!
Location and the accommodation
Nothing
Staff were lovely. Very helpful and attentive. The facilities , such as the restaurant / bar were beautifully dressed and had a lovely atmosphere.
We were upgraded due to problems with the accommodation we actually booked. As lovely as the cottage was inside, it was right opposite the restaurant and lacked a view. We had booked accommodation right on the park to allow our dog instant access to grass which the cottage lacked. There was also a lack of cook wear ( only a couple of knives and forks) and one baking tray etc. Only stools provided to eat meals which were far too high.
I called & spoke to a member of staff & explained I had booked this for my daughter & her new husband for their wedding night. I asked if I could paid for something special to be done & was told of course we can & there would be no charge. The lady said they would leave a congratulations card & a plater plate for them.I was disappointed when my daughter told me they had nothing left for them.
Retreat East was fantastic for the 2 days of chilling and relaxing that we so needed. Our room The Hayloft was exceptional, with everything that we needed and more.
The spa was fabulous, and Izzy gave us both one of the best massages ever
Great to find EV charging points by reception, and very good price
Fantastic drinks menu, with lots to choose from, lamb and crème brûlée was unbelievable
Continental breakfast was good, as was the hot choices
Love the fact that dogs/cats are allowed in the restaurant area, when their humans ate, something that is rare to find, but was lovely to see here
Couldn’t open a window to let in natural air into the room
No phone connection in our room, said emergency calls only, and we were expecting phone calls, so had to walk over to the restaurant to get signal
No shower gel, only shampoo and conditioner
Only 2 of cups, glasses, etc, when needed more
Coffee bags instead of pods would have been nice, as pods too strong
A gate, at the very front entrance to the hayloft would be nice, especially for people with dogs/kids so they can’t just wander off
A selection of sandwiches at lunch time on the menu would have been nice.
Beautiful furniture and decor.
We were in the little warren room. Only downside I would say is the plugs are not near a mirror to dry or straighten your hair, I had to unplug the fridge.
Cabin was very Nicely decorated, snd great for a one Night stay.
Sofa wasnt comfortable, very well used. Also allowing Dogs in restaurant .Staff member picked up a used dog bed took it across to them.
All before bringing out a full English.
Her uniform would have had dog hairs all over it.
There were two dogs and a cat in the restaurant.
We thought we were at Crufts every time someone came in they were barking.
Unfortunately will not be returning 😕
Great location, really enjoyed the peace and quiet. Staff that went above and beyond.
The lodge we stayed in was lovely.
Customer service, I had to go to the place to book the things I wanted to do as emails were not answered & phone messages not responded to. I didn’t realise that although breakfast was included in the price, there was a charge made for the breakfast choice made, I wasn’t made aware of this until after I had eaten.
The view, peace and quiet along with all staff being polite and attentive.
We were led to believe our accommodation was a sheephards hut instead of a lodge. There were no photos of inside any of the huts . We expected a lodge and feel Booking.com have advertised incorrectly.
Very quiet. Nice spa area and restaurant.
Odd system to use the spa, maybe some shared, public sessions could be considered. And hot tub was not private so some passers by got an eyeful. No bar as such, just restaurant
