A couple of days away relaxing doing nothing, which was the exact reason I booked.
Pros:

There was plenty on the menu for the bed and breakfast rate, although it did run out rather quick if you weren't there early.
The food in the restaurant was insanely good, I had Cod one evening and Chicken the other, both amazing.
Nice chilled vibe with people walking around in robes and relaxing on the sunbeds. A true switch off moment that I needed!

Cons:

On my second evening there was an event in the Barn and although the website advised that the property area is free of cars, on this occasion is was not. I had two cars parked outside my front door blocking my path.
The service was a bit light with regards to staff. On the Friday evening I waited 25 mins for my plate to be taken.
Also when ordering coffee with my breakfast, no sugar or spoon with given, I went inside to request these and then waited a further 10 mins for them to be brought out.

Lovely location very relaxing :-)
Pros:

Remote, very clean lovely view. We had a lovely stay food in the restaurant was delicious!

Cons:

It really shocked me that tea and coffee were not included with breakfast, for nearly £200 for one night I think a coffee should be included!

Lovely location, amazing spa treatments and friendly & helpful staff
Pros:

I stayed in one of the shepherd huts which are snug but cosy and nicely furnished. The bed was very comfy.
The location is lovely if you’re looking for a rural retreat. The big barn (where you eat) is stunning and the food is great. I had two amazing treatments in the spa.
All the staff are charming and helpful.

Cons:

The shower was scolding hot even when turned to the coldest temperature possible. The bathroom was tiny, I was there alone so it wasn’t too bad but there’s definitely not room for two people in there!
There was an unpleasant stain on one of the curtains.

A real treat at the Retreat
Pros:

the cabins are stunning, very comfortable and a lovely outside area with a bath. The staff are fantastic, really friendly and attentive. We didn't use the spa but looked really nice. Great Barn for dinner is beautifully appointed and a nice bar with a good outdoor area to chill and have a drink

Cons:

The food was good but menu not really varied enough for the quality and price of location. They could move it upmarket really but food quality was excellent and well cooked but they could do better than burgers and fish and chips. Not much to do around the area, but that's ok as it's so nice to just chill there. So, would definitely recommend for a short break

Relaxation at its finest
Pros:

We love it here. It was our second stay. James the chef is exceptional. Gwenny in reception couldn’t be more helpful.

Cons:

We had a problem and the night reception lady wasn’t helpful at all. Very disappointing as the rest of the staff are exceptional.

A releaxing stay in a beautiful and secluded area.
Pros:

The accomodation was styled nicely, very homely and comfortable. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Cons:

The service charge automatically added to food and drink orders in the barn. No aircon in the rooms, only a weak fan provided for cooling. Some of the finer details which could have made us feel a bit more special weren't there.

Pros:

Overall the place has great potential if planning between booking sites and other small issues were ironed out ... however there basic go to is oh sorry to hear that and then move on ... theres no way of improving when it's obvious there not overly concerned of issues

Cons:

Well from the beginning when I changed my booking from 5 star to this i was told it was the last availble for the date and non refundable... however the pics I saw was not the room I had its very deciving ... also states we had parking however you have to park up the book and walk down again misleading information, then as I said toldninhad booked whatbwas advertised pictures were of lodges not sheppard huts they offered ro cancel and refund but that was the day b4 not easy to find something short notice ... also states breakfast included its not till you pay and get confirmation that it's actually just a continental breakfast and that you need to pay for everything hot.. very sharp in words ... on top of this on the day of arrival there was plenty of space and room to upgrade .. strange when I explained this was my first issue thatbit wasnt what I thought I paid for ... no offer to just upgrade for free as appolgy or extra 30 mins in tub for the confusing info no ... unfortunately as much as there look amazing its all this that lets this place down ... I feel it needs a re branding and training on how to manage expectations... im happy to advise shame as we look to tell people about the stays we go to I will not be recommending this ... especially when cleaners leave old toothpaste under the bed meets in fridge just shows checks are not complete b4 handing over keys

Pros:

Lovely setting.

Cons:

The restaurant service was very slow. I think the place needs to decide who it wants to attract - people looking for a really quiet lovely break or parties. It can’t be both if it’s a retreat.

A good few days away. The food and stay were good, but the retreat is not value for money
Pros:

The lunch and dinner was of a good quality and the staff were mostly friendly and polite. The spa treatment I had was really good and our room was very spacious and met our needs for the stay. A kitchen helped us for when we did not want to use the on-site restaurant

Cons:

The retreat had some notable awards back in 2022 and 2023. However, it seems since then the quality may have dropped off. The room had a lot of items that appeared dated, curtains, chipped bunny ornament above the fridge. The furniture throughout the room was dated. Most of the workers were young who were polite and friendly, but didn't appear to have an understanding of the food/beverages on offer. Each time i asked a question, they had to go away and ask someone in the kitchen. Not a great list of options for Vegetarians or Vegans. The breakfast was also very simple. The continental breakfast was free, but even arriving around 9am, most of the items were finished and we even had to ask staff to toast our bread at the back in the kitchen. It was also not very clear that items off the menu were chargeable. I ordered a flat white one morning and was then told later it was going to be charged. How can hot drinks not be included at a 'luxurious' retreat? It is free in the room, so why is it not in the restaurant? One other concern was the spa facilities. I used it one evening at 7pm, and the sauna/steam rooms had no alarm procedures. With the slippers provided, it was extremely slippery and if I entered bare feet, I would burn my feet. If someone dropped and hurt themselves, would anyone find them? This was quite concerning for me and a basic oversight that has to be made clearer. When I asked someone at the reception the next day in the spa about the lack of an emergency procedure, she had no idea how to answer my question.

Wonderful escape. So peaceful and quiet. Lovely style. Great food. Lovely little spa. Highly recommend.
Pros:

Space a peace. The one bed huts with our door baths are amazing. You feel like you’re alone but with all the amenities of a hotel. Spa also amazing

Cons:

Only tiny things like there’s nowhere to do hair and make up easily and only one soap in the bathroom so you need yo keep moving it from sink to bath.
