Pros:

Bed so comfy. We loved daily hot tub and spa routine. Loved the quirky vibe. Decor was appealing and different. Very clean and attention to detail. Night time chocolate was a bonus. Water in room a plus. Patrick was welcoming.

Cons:

Steam spa was not working.

Beautiful hotel for a weekend getaway in Budapest
Pros:

We had a great time. We particularly liked the spa, the style/architecture of the hotel. The room was beautiful and spacious. The bed was comfy.

Cons:

It’s a bit outside of the city center and there is a bit to walk to reach the main attractions and the river. Was not a big deal, there are plenty of busses around.

Lage ausgezeichnet. 5 Minuten Bus, 10 Minuten Straßenbahn.
Netter Empfang. Sehr schönes gebäude! Zimmer sehr schön. Bisschen schmal, nicht gerade gross. Bar oben am Dach sehr toll.

Cons:

Frühstück für 5 Sterne bei besserungswürdig. Personal beim Frühstück könnten grüssen "guten Morgen!" Lächeln! Kaffee ist ungenießbar aus dem Automaten. Der bestellte Kaffee war wunderbar. Tee ungenießbar - ich empfehle Ronnefeldt! Die Spitzenhotellerie arbeitet mit Ronnefeldt! Bei der warmen Gerichten bitte Teller unter die Zangen, nicht auf die Tischdecke.

Don't make prepayment at this hotel
Pros:

We had booked our trip (June 1-7, 2026) via Easyjet. We paid flight and hotel in advance. On check-in, the hotel insisted on a prepayment of 100000 HUF (300 Euro) for potential restaurant use. We did not use this money, but the Hotel is trying since June 7th to keep it. Initially they claimed it would come back after 30 days, it didn't. Then they said they never charged it - we have receipts from our Swiss bank that they have it. Budapest police does not help. Now the hotel offered us 40% of the amount. Currently the process is pending at easyjet customer service. I assume we need to involve Swiss police. RECOMMENDATION: Avoid the Mystery Hotel - they cheat. Never make any prepayment - they'll never return.

A wonderful stay at a truly unique hotel!

We had a fantastic stay at the Mystery Hotel Budapest. The hotel itself is beautiful, with stunning décor and a great atmosphere, and everything was spotlessly clean and tidy throughout – from the rooms to the common areas.

The breakfast was lovely, with a great selection every morning – the freshly made omelette was a real highlight and definitely worth trying!

What really made the stay special, though, was the staff. Everyone we came across was extremely polite, friendly and helpful, always happy to assist with recommendations and anything we needed.

We would happily return and highly recommend the Mystery Hotel to anyone visiting Budapest. 5 stars!

Good spa, love animals
Pros:

The spa area was very good. The rooms are well designed. I loved the fact that dogs are allowed in the hotel. I liked the gaming table from the ground floor lobby. Big breakfast.

Excellent Service in a Unique Hotel
Pros:

We had a wonderful stay at the Mystery Hotel. The service was outstanding throughout—efficient, professional, and genuinely friendly. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a unique and quirky character that makes it memorable. We also really enjoyed the excellent spa facilities, and the breakfast was fantastic, with a wide variety of high-quality options. Although the hotel is slightly removed from the main tourist attractions, it is still very convenient. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would happily return.
