My wife and I went to London for 9 days just to soak up the local scene/culture and to be pampered. We definitely picked the right place. From our enthusiastic initial greeting from Sara to our room tour and orientation from Tony, we quickly understood this stay would be a lot of fun. It’s an historic building that has been incredibly well maintained. The entire hotel has impressive attention to detail. We loved every minute and can’t wait to return.
What a special experience. Start to finish. Traveling for business, I came off a red eye and was immediately greeted by Toni’s warm smile. I sat in the lobby during a call while the team brought me coffee and water and got me set up in my room (automatically, without me saying a thing). The access to the nearby Gymbox was great. The team learned that I went daily and started calling the gym to let them know I was coming each day—again, without me saying anything. Everyone knew my name, things about me, everything. The room was large and beautifully kept. Restaurant was excellent. The whole property was so nice—like staying in the estate of a rich eccentric aunt.
I cannot say enough good things about this hotel; could go on forever. Bravo to the team—we will not hesitate to come back.
Very amazing service at this hotel. Beautifully curated. Toni is the best - he was extremely friendly and helpful during our stay. We felt so welcomed here.
Absolutely loved L'Oscar London. The hotel feels luxurious and unique without being over the top, amazing service, beautiful design, and a perfect location for exploring London. The rooms, atmosphere, and overall experience made the trip feel special. Would definitely stay again.
We really enjoyed our four days at L’Oscar. The bed was perfectly comfortable and the room was plush and well appointed. Everything you would expect in a great hotel!
The staff is so kind and welcoming. From the moment you step in everyone ensures you are taken care of. The concierge ensured we had plans set up. The breakfasts are exceptional. Enjoyed reading a book over a cappuccino
Many thanks to Toni who hailed cabs during peak times and looked after us to make sure we had our airport return nailed down. He and the rest of the staff made our stay special
We stayed at L'Oscar for 4 nights in April 2026.
This is a lovely traditional property. There are not a lot of rooms or amenities (no gym, spa, etc.) but the staff was warm and helpful. The hotel is located across from the Holborn tube station and a short walk to Covent Garden/West End, Regent Street, Oxford Circus, etc. There are many restaurant options -- all price ranges and cuisines.
We were welcomed with tea and allowed to check in early. The room was spacious and L'Oscar provided bottled water, coffee and tea. We did not have afternoon tea or dinner at the hotel but the breakfast was plentiful.
The only caveat I have is that you should check you bill very carefully because the property added fees that were not disclosed to us. Also, ask for a printed copy of the final invoice.
- Although breakfast was included, an automatic gratuity is added.
- There was a vague "service accommodation fee" of 5% OF THE ROOM RATE. When I asked what this was, the person at the front desk was vague. I kept asking for clarification and finally he told me "it's like a tip for housekeeping - you should have been told about this when you checked in." Of course, I was not told about this at check-in and I had been leaving a cash tip each day. In any case, I think it is absurd to charge a tip for housekeeping as percentage of the room rate. I asked for this to be removed and it was.
- Third, when I checked out I went over the invoice and took a picture of the final bill. Sometime over the next few days, they INCREASED MY FINAL CHARGE. It was only about GBP 20 but they did not notify me. In my experience, the final invoice is the final invoice and if that changes the guest should be notified. I emailed the property and did not receive a clear answer other than something along the lines of "this is the charge." I sent them a picture of what they told me the final invoice was and they still insisted that it was not. When I said I would write about this online, they offered to credit me the GBP 20 if I sent them all my credit card information via unsecured email. I declined to do so.
We loved our stay at L’Oscar London. It’s truly a luxurious, hidden gem in the heart of London. The rooms and common areas are spectacular and more importantly, the service is impeccable. Florencia and Tony treated us like family. We will miss our morning conversations over breakfast. Speaking of breakfast - wow - what an incredible way to start your day in London. The hotel is centrally located, steps from the tube station with access to the Piccadilly and Central lines and a convenient walk or cycle to all the hot spots in town - Mayfair, Covent Garden, Buckingham Palace, Borough Market, the Thames and more. We are looking forward to our next London visit and to staying at L’Oscar.
I’ve been to many 5-star hotels throughout the years but let me tell you this was one hits the nail on the head. From the first moment you walk in, to the check in experience, the name recognition and overall service; you’ll never want to leave. You pay for what you get obviously but Toni was amazing throughout our stay. Always keeping us on check. Alex was our waiter for Afternoon tea and with Chelsea flower season we had a great experience. Reminder to the team to add the Rose Petal Jam to the menu!! I asked for it the next at breakfast. Room was spacious and we had some complimentary snacks in the room. Try the afternoon tea there - phenomenal!! I’m telling people this is in my Top 3 list based on service provided. Please visit them and stay a few nights - you won’t regret it!
Perfect stay at L’Oscar. Very warm welcome from Toni and Marie-Sophie, room very comfortable and clean, all needed amenities. Would love to come back!
Everything about this hotel is just right. From our first stay, the staff was so warm and friendly that we knew we had to come back.
The rooms are spacious, the beds and pillows are incredibly comfy, and the food and drinks are exceptional. I treated myself to room‑service breakfast, and it was such a lovely experience. This boutique hotel is a true gem — just a 7‑minute walk to the British Museum and right next to the Holborn tube stop.
A special thank‑you to Toni, the wonderful gentleman who greets you at the door. He is always kind, helpful, and such a delight. Thank you, Toni, for taking such good care of us.
Service, comfort, atmosphere, breakfast, location, access to Underground – all fantastic! Toni was super welcoming and helpful getting cars or anything else needed.
L’Oscar is in a great location, right by the Holborn tube station. From the moment we checked in and were offered tea or champagne, to the moment we checked out, the service was wonderful. Toni was very helpful with our bags and getting us a taxi. Would definitely come back!
Wonderful location, very friendly and professional staff and great food.
Absolutely wonderful hotel!
The ambience, decor and cleanliness are superb but what made the experience exceptional is the staff; particularly Vanicia, Shivaz, Toni and the entire service group @ breakfast and dinner. They each are a credit to your operation; friendly, knowledgeable, professional and a pleasure to deal with.
We’re looking forward to our next visit!
A truly exceptional stay at L'oscar London.
My daughter and I spent three nights at L'oscar in early April as the home base for a Shakespeare- and Tudor-history-themed trip to London, and the hotel was every bit as memorable as the city itself. From the moment we walked through the doors, the staff made us feel like we were guests of honor. Their warmth, attentiveness, and quiet professionalism elevated every interaction — from a thoughtful late check-in arrangement to small, unprompted gestures that made my eight-year-old feel genuinely welcome.
The rooms are remarkable. Jacques Garcia's design is theatrical without ever feeling overdone — rich fabrics, marble and onyx bathrooms, beautiful art, and a sense that you've stepped into a stage set that was made just for you. Our Deluxe Room was deeply comfortable and a wonderful space to retreat to after long days of exploring.
The location in Bloomsbury proved ideal. We were within easy reach of the West End for evening theatre, walkable to Covent Garden, and well-positioned for the museums and historic sites that anchored our itinerary. After a full day of Tudor portraits, Shakespeare's Globe, or Westminster Abbey, returning to L'oscar always felt like coming home to something special.
A rare hotel where the design, the service, and the setting all live up to one another. We will absolutely be back.
We had a great time!!! It was a Trader Joe's group of 12!! The staff was amazing the food was great and Toni was my hero!! He carried our extremely heavy bags out to the taxi!! lol. We will definitely be back!!
Phenomenal three-night stay as a family of three. Toni and the rest of the team were genuinely warm and conversational in every interaction. They went above and beyond for our one-year-old with a stuffed elephant, an elephant rubber duck, mini slippers, plus a diaper pail, baby bath, and organic soap and lotion in the room. Turn-down service was a lovely touch. The staircase is worth a walk even if you're not staying on an upper floor. Vegan afternoon tea was well worth it. Would easily return!
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The service was excellent from beginning to end, and all the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Special thanks to Toni and George, who made our trip so much smoother and more enjoyable. Before we arrived, they carefully confirmed all the details with us and gave us very helpful recommendations for our stay in London.
They also helped us with our luggage and arranged transportation whenever we needed it. We had to leave very early at 4am for our flight, and they thoughtfully prepared and delivered packed breakfast boxes to our room, which we really appreciated.
The hotel location is also fantastic, only about a 5-minute walk to the British Museum, making it very convenient for sightseeing.
Thank you again to Toni, George, and the whole team for the warm hospitality. We would definitely stay here again!
Great hospitality from the staff. Toni was the best
