Fantastic location with an amazing sea view. Would definitely take up the residents evening meal offer which was £22per person per night for up to four courses and the quality was exceptional. Breakfast was also very good and its nice to have a really good hot buffet selection as well as cooked to order if you prefer
The final few miles to Hope Cove is an absolute nightmare with very narrow roads admitted I was in a medium SUV but I could see from just the few days that we were in the area the amount of damaged and scraped cars so not just limited to Hope Cove. Of course this isn't the hotels problem but I think on balance this would put me off a return visit

Bed was a bit lumpy
We only stayed for one night, but had such a lovely time. We were in the newer extension and I was surprised at how lovely and large the room was. The beachfront views are spectacular! The staff were so kind and helpful, and made a fuss of my daughter who turned 11 while we were there. They left a decorative fruit platter in our room wishing her happy birthday, and placed little gold stars on our table for dinner and breakfast. It's a really wonderful property with incredible staff and we hope to return.
The menu is potentially a little outdated, and it would be lovely to have a coffee machine when breakfast is served in the restaurant.

The hotel was a very traditional country house hotel. The room and bathroom were very small, but we did have a nice sea view. It was cosy and comfortable and what we expected for an old hotel.
It could have done with updating, especially the dining room to bring it into the 20th century

The location was fabulous and our room had a lovely view over the beach. The public areas were fabulous with old school charm and the staff were so chatty and attentive. If you’re expecting sleek and modern, it’s not for you but if you appreciate quirky and nostalgic. This is it!! Decor old school but very clean and comfy where it counts. We were there when the sun was shining so we were able to take advantage of the outdoor bar/ding deck area but I could imagine it being so cozy on a blustery day looking out at the sea and cliffs. Only a short stroll to a couple of pubs and cafes or to the South West coastal path with stunning views. We ate both nights in house (cheaper if you book ahead) and the food was exceptional. Tasty fresh and plenty of veg. A very unique experience made even more memorable by staying in this character filled accommodation. Definitely recommend!

What a fantastic British gem! Very traditional family run hotel, with the most spectacular views over Hope Cove. Nothing was too much trouble, the most friendly hotel staff we have ever encountered. Rooms are slightly dated, and some would see this as a negative, not us though, this hotel has real character. Worth paying extra for a sea view balcony. Thank you for an amazing stay!
