Pros:

Pros:

The hotel was very clean, staff very helpful

Cons:

Window in bathroom was jammed open making the room chilly at night. The duvet was very lightweight. There was no central light in the room and the lamps didnt adjust with dimmer switch. Not enough milk on the hospitality tray. The key fob on the door was loose, making it difficult to lock and unlock the room (room 11). At breakfast served with mushroom instead of blackpudding without any consultation on the substigution. Had to ask for milk for coffee and remind again about serving toast. Not value for money on this occassion.

Lovely setting, but a little expensive for what there is.
Pros:

The location was ideal and cooked breakfast was excellent.

Cons:

Rather tired looking needing some repairs and updating. Simple things such as a smile and having a hot teapot would be good. Rather expensive compared with other hotels both with food and accommodation costs. I have stayed at the Collingwood since 1988 and have seen many changes over the years, both good and bad.
