The location was good, our room was very clean and towels were changed daily.
The food was good, big portions and a very good variety of gluten free options, and the staff were helpful.
Staff were very pleasant. Breakfast was very good. Bed very comfortable.
The room was adequate but the toilet and shower had been fitted into what might have been a cupboard. Hardly any room to move around. Great for little ones but adults less so.
The evening menu was certainly extensive but a pub menu so we did not eat in there.
The location is great, and the staff are friendly. There were horses roaming outside when I arrived, which was lovely to see.
I most liked that the pub is situated in a picturesque village in the New Forest. Plus on first entering the room it was lovely to find the towels folded in animal shapes and with a pretty small sprig of lavender carefully place in the folds of the bath mat.
Room number 1 was clean and comfortable but as it is above the outside tables and the night I stayed it was noisy. This room would benefit from some small maintenance repairs eg door lock loose, part fell off shower taps as not properly secured (just sitting on edge of pipe). More importantly, the breakfast was extremely poor. I chose avocado and poached egg on toast but received a low quality guacamole spread on the toast with the egg placed on top. The coffee was from an instant coffee machine and tasted dreadful. I ate the egg but left everything else and told the waitress but was still charged for all. I did suggest to her the menu be clearer on what was to be actually served.
Large room in quiet location. Freshly cooked breakfast.
Shower either boiling or freezing. Half hour wait for breakfast. Ancient building in need of attention.
Quirky, characterful pub in a lovely picturesque village. Lovely evening meal in the pub.
The avocado & poached egg on sourdough for breakfast - I believe it was guacamole from a jar rather than made fresh using fresh avocados
Fantastic location
Comfy beds clean and quiet
Food and staff were excellent
Bathroom was very compact. Was not keen on the sliding door. Was okay for a one night stay.
Comfortable en suite bedroom. Very peaceful and a great night's sleep, pillows were particularly good. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice. Very nice service too. Parking readily available. Central location for exploring the area.
Freaky heatwave ruined the overnight temperatures in the room , Fans never really helped. Not the fault of the Trusty Servant
Only the heat
Great place. Fab room. Friendly staff. Good food. Lots of space outside and close to church to see the famous grave and a common for the dog to stretch his legs. Really enjoyed the stay, a nice surprise, as we booked to break the journey to Swanage. Would stay again. Thank you 😀
We liked the ambience and the position of the property
That our room was full of dogs hair and the hairdryer was sticky.
The bathroom was very small but adequate in our room
The room was a delight, and very spacious, the cleanliness was excellent. The Staff were friendly and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The food was very good, the portions were more than ample..
The room was south facing, so with the rising heat we had to keep the windows open, the breeze was nice, but the mosquito's were not. The Trusty Servant Inn changed to cashless earlier in the week, and although it was not an issue to settle up each night, it would have been handier to settle just one bill.
It was in a quiet location, the staff were all friendly and helpful. Even though the restaurant and garden were busy it was not noisy.
Nothing,
The only thing that I can say is, I know it’s an old building but the sockets in the room were not very easy to access, also the remote for the tv didn’t work very well, they did have a look but it didn’t make much difference.
Convenient, clean and very helpful friendly staff
The breakfast was good and the staff are very good and welcoming.
Lovely worker Josh super friendly and helpful, Food excellent peaceful surroundings
Shower took a while to drain but such a minor point the rest out weighed that
