Friendly and atentive staff, great pool area, lovely location, really enjoyed would go again.
Wonderful, comfortable and well maintained especially the old architecture, stain glass windows and old traditional artefacts everywhere! The FOOD!!! Oh my days! It is soooo tasty! Worth every penny!
Stairs and room access is a bit tough especially if you are on a higher room but that can’t be helped! So no complaints to be honest!

Location Lakeside
Location right on lakeside. Plenty discounted/free parking. Lake boat trips next door and aquarium. Ducks on lakeshore. Plenty outside and conservatory seating.
Shame really our room (ok we booked few days before arrival) was bit small and no view but as we spent most the lighter hours in conservatory wasn’t a biggie.
Nice location and really friendly staff! Amazing food at dinner
The rooms were too warm following the heatwave even though little fans were provided. Additionally, could hear loud noises coming from the kitchen in the early morning since had to keep the window open to cool down.
Fantastic hotel with large bar and conservatory. Very nice having a wine outside next to the lake in the summer heatwave. Pool is large and a luxury. It was too warm to swim but ideal after a day walking. Great range of beers in the bar. Staff were very friendly
We were their during the heatwave and the room was very hot. However, once I realised the towel rail was on high it did allow the room to become bearable. In normal times room would have been fine
Great breakfast
This is a fantastic stay right on the shores of Lake Windermere. Plenty to do locally and easily accessible for the wider Lake district. The hotel is a traditional but modernised place with it's own pub, outdoor bar, outdoor seating and orangery/conservatory. Staff were great throughout, plenty of them around, always asked if there was anything they could help with. All very professional but friendly as well. Spa facilities and pools +Jacuzzi +Steam room +Sauna all accessible at no extra cost for residents. You do need to book and pay if you want a treatment/massage but general access was included. Good breakfast options cooked from the menu as well as buffet. Good restaurant and lots of other local options to be had as well.
The only thing that would have made a difference for us would be to have Air-con in the rooms, although as I said above it is an old building and I'm not sure if they'd even be allowed to do this. I would also point out it was mid heat-wave when we there and they did put out fans in the rooms and the conservatory etc. to do the best they could in 32+ degree heat which is pretty much unheard of in this area.
