We had the pleasure of staying at the Continental Hotel in Opatija this week while celebrating my grandparents’ 55th wedding anniversary, and we could not have chosen a better place for such a special occasion.
We would like to express our heartfelt thanks once again to Ms. Patrícia and her wonderful team for their warm hospitality, kindness, and genuine care throughout our stay. The entire team was always smiling, friendly, and incredibly welcoming, which made us feel truly special and at home.
We were very happy with our beautiful and comfortable room, and the breakfast was excellent, with a great variety of delicious options. We also thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at the à la carte restaurant — the food, atmosphere, and service were all outstanding.
Thank you for making such an important family celebration even more memorable. We truly appreciated every thoughtful gesture and the exceptional hospitality we received.
We will gladly return to the Continental Hotel and warmly recommend it to anyone visiting Opatija!

U proteklih 30 god bila sam bar u 15 opatijskih hotela,ali ovaj ne bih preporucila nikoma

Soba nije imala zavjese,ljudi sa balkona preko puta su imali izravan pogled u sobu.Recepcionerke strankinje,prisiljena sam u svojoj zemlji komunicirati samo na engleskom,upuceni smo u krivu zgradu sa prtljagom da bi pronasli sobu ,koje tamo nema.U 1.30 u noci neki ljudi viču i glasno se smiju bar pola sata,nemamo se kome obratiti za nocni red i mir.

Pros:

The outstanding thing about our visit was a very happy and attentive waiter who was also the chocolate expert there. A gentleman from Mexico. The beds are divine but the a/c barely held its own. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again but hope for better a/c

Das Frühstück war megaa & die gesamte gemütliche Atmosphäre im Haus war wunderschön. Sooo richtig zum Runterkommen & entspannen.

Cons:

Frühstück & die liebe zum Detail im gesamten Hotel. Die Verbindung aus Nostalgie, Geschichte des Hotels mit dem Modernen. Was mir noch sehr gut gefallen hat, war dass nur mein Vorname am Zummerkärtchen oben gestanden ist. Das war sehr schön.

Sam hotel je poseben, sobe so lepe, prostorne. Lokacija hotela je dobra, v bližini plaže, restavracij in trgovin.

Cons:

Zmotilo me je da osebje na recepcijo ne govori hrvaško.
Pri zajtrku mize niso bile pospravljene od prejšnjih gostov in ustrezno pripravljene za nove.

Pros:

Breakfast was ok and the morning staff

Cons:

The building looks beautiful from the outside, but unfortunately that is where the positives end.

Inside, the hotel feels neglected, outdated and completely lacking in atmosphere. Our dark attic room looked like something from another century. The air conditioning did not work and the temperature during the night was around 27°C, making sleep almost impossible. The beds were uncomfortable and the TV was ridiculously small.

The bathroom had extremely slippery tiles, making it genuinely dangerous, while the décor looked like it had not been changed since the communist era.

The hotel is also completely unsuitable for guests with disabilities or reduced mobility. Finding the parking took me 40 minutes due to hopeless signage and confusing directions.

The biggest disaster was the night reception staff. Communication in English was extremely poor, with basic words and even distances such as 50 and 500 metres being confused. Despite showing my confirmed parking reservation by email, the receptionist refused responsibility because “the email was not from her”. Then our room keys did not work and the room eventually had to be opened with a master key.

The entire check-in took 1 hour and 10 minutes, meaning nearby restaurants were already closed.

However, I must give credit where it is due: the daytime staff felt like a completely different hotel. Everyone was friendly, helpful and welcoming. Special thanks to Manager Patrycja, who personally offered her assistance and showed genuine professionalism, understanding and concern regarding the mistakes made by the night shift. Her attitude was exactly what good hotel management and customer service should look like.

Kedves személyzet, tisztaság, nagyon jó fekvés
Pros:

A környék nagyon szép tiszta, a tengerpart 5 perc. A belváros a tengerpart mellett sétálva 10 perc. Gyönyörű tengerpart, arborétum, csodás virágos parkok. A reggeli változatos, rengeteg. Nekem nagyon szimpatikus a főzött kávé, imádtam.
