Zero Chance Of Returning
Pros:

Location was great for travel.

Cons:

Property was one of the dirtiest major chain hotels we have recently stayed at. The hotel staff was friendly but overextended and management was obviously not keeping up with the cleanliness of the hotel. The front lobby was relatively clean but that ended at the elevator. Biggest spill/stain I’ve seen in a long time on the floor of the elevator and scuffs and scrapes and smears from a dirty cleaning rag on the wall of the elevator. Hallways were dingy/dirty and there was an obvious wad of human fur in the tub of our room. Headboard on one of the beds was smeared with something that looked like a poor attempt at cleaning had failed to get cleaned off. Window shade was inoperable due to broken mechanism but at least the air conditioner worked. We were exceptionally disappointed and won’t be back when there are so many options in the area.

Great stop for families.
Pros:

This hotel is great for families. They have games, coloring books, pool, and giant connect four in the lobby. The breakfast is made to be fun with all kinds of toppings for yogurt, pancakes, and oatmeal.

Great experience
Pros:

One of the best hotel experiences I’ve ever had rooms are clean organized everything works, and the Room was nice and cold when I first arrived. Next time I’m in Amarillo I know exactly where I’ll be staying.

It was okay for the night but lacked a few conveniences.

Microwave is in lobby and not in rooms. The Pet fee is double any of the other hotels in that area.

No extra frills but pleasant for a quick stay
Pros:

This was our first time staying at a Tru by Hilton, and my feelings are mixed. This particular property had a very unpleasant, moldy water smell as soon as we walked in the lobby, but other than that it appeared clean and neat. The staff members were warm and welcoming, so no complaints there. The biggest thing we liked about Tru was that they are extremely pet-friendly to the point of having dog treats available and posted resources like nearest vet, nearest dog park, etc.. THAT is service for pet families!

The breakfast bar was outstanding. If you are trying to avoid carbs and sugar, good luck because they feature an irresistible build-it-yourself pancake bar in which we indulged (a lot). Love that they have complimentary hot tea and coffee available at all times in the lobby.

As far as what we didn't love, it's some of the layout choices. We totally understand that Tru is appealing to certain age groups who may value open concepts and bright colors and a laid back lifestyle more than others, and that's fine. But the minimalist vibe and decor won't feel right for everyone. If you are looking for lots of amenities and furniture, this is not the place for you to stay. But if you are looking for a place that is super welcoming to pets and is budget-friendly, stay at Tru. We were only there one night and it served its purpose for us as we passed through Amarillo.

P.S. The shower was superb - spacious with great water pressure and super hot temperatures.

It was fine. Did not feel worth it for the price compared to other stays I’ve had for cheaper.
Pros:

Convenient location. Easy to find with plenty of parking.

Cons:

Tv in our room had terrible picture quality due to the backlights dying out. Blinds for the windows are hard to open or close.
