Der Service, selten Barpersonal und die Rezeption war auch nicht immer besetzt. Also war es sehr schwierig was zu trinken zu bekommen. Das schlechteste Frühstück auf unserer Rundreise mit 6 Hotels. Das Obst wurde mit Schale geschnitten und auf das Buffet gelegt, es stand eine Kanne Filterkaffee auf dem Buffet. Das geht gar nicht bei dem Preis. Das teuerste und schlechteste Hotel auf unserer Reise

A great base to stay while exploring northern Portugal.
Pros:

A well appointed hotel overlooking the river in this historic town. Everything to a high standard, as you'd expect from a decent hotel - location, staff, rooms and breakfast. And well worth a stroll around town for the restaurants and the castle.

Cons:

Would have liked to try the restaurant but it was shut on the night we stayed.

On the positive side, the location is excellent and the hotel is very peaceful and quiet, making it a good option for a relaxing stay.

Cons:

The indoor pool only has 6 sun beds available for the entire hotel, which is clearly not enough. In addition, pool towels must be collected from reception — it’s best to pick them up upon arrival, otherwise you may end up having to walk to reception in your robe before going to the pool.
The infrastructure is also starting to show its age and would benefit from some renovations, especially in the rooms and bathrooms. Another downside is the lack of sufficient parking spaces for all guests, meaning you often have to park on the surrounding streets.
Breakfast is decent, but below what you would expect from a 4-star hotel.
