Breakfast finished too early. Bathroom very small. None helped with our luggage upstairs and no lift
Bigger bathroom and later breakfast.
The only thing that was nice was the location and the bed was comfortable even though it was a single bed.
The room had a bad smell. There was no tea or coffee or water in the room and the hotel was not as clean as it should have been. The water from the shower was not running hardly. The tap in the sink was running more.
The hotel is well situated on the Leeds-Liverpool Canal, close to the town centre and castle. The room was large and comfortable; all the facilities that we required were present. Breakfasts were very good. Our main human contact during the stay was the gentleman who served our breakfasts and he was both friendly and efficient. We appreciated the provision of a powerful fan for the room, during a spell of very warm weather.
Our room overlooked a main road, with a fire station opposite, so could be noisy at times. We used the restaurant a couple of times in the evening, but found the menu limited and the service slow.
First impression was a lovely clean welcoming hotel. The room was comfortable and clean. It was a good price for bed and breakfast in a canal view room. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and we will go back again
Top cooked breakfast
Too warm in Room (Room 8). Electric Fan not good enough. Please get air con
Stayed few times here good place.
The room was spotless, breakfast was lovely, we had a dog with us and she even got a sausage at breakfast . Location was perfect . My only niggle , the long length mirror was I the wrong place , right next to the bed , so couldn’t look at myself ( whole body) as the bed was in the way ! Fan provided , and on check in , biscuits in a little bag , for me and my husband , and in a separate bag , some for our dog .
The dress mirror was too close to the bed , to see whole outfit.
It's a lovely building and very comfortable. It's conveniently located opposite the train station and a comfortable 10-15 minutes walk along the scenic canal path into the centre of town with both chain and independent shops, and a market several times a week. There's also a Morrisons store 5 minutes walk away. The breakfast and dinner were delicious with plenty of choice and the staff could not have been more helpful. Special mention to Ann on reception, Chelsea on the bar and Tino in the restaurant.
My room was very hot - but my stay was during the June heatwave so anywhere would have been hot! However, I was able to open the window and a fan was provided.
Really nice bathroom. Comfortable bed. Ver6 good breakfast.
Very creaking floorboards. Duvet too thick a top sheet would have been nice on such hot night.
The rooms were beautifully decorated and furnished.
The restaurant was lovely with a good selection of food. Everyone really enjoyed their food choices.
The outdoor area had lots of seating with big umbrellas for shade.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful and the location was good for exploring Skipton and surrounding areas.
Rooms had tea and coffee facilities but no biscuits. Would have expected a hotel of this standard to have small fridge with bottled water provided and storage for guests cold drinks.
The location and a beautiful view of the canal
Where our room was a long plastic banner was obstructing the view along the path
Clean comfortable hotel situated only a short walk from the centre of Skipton. The breakfast was very good as was the service. There is a bar area and a lounge/conservatory with comfortable seating. We had a twin room which overlooked the canal and was very quiet overnight. The wi fi is reliable. Part of the hotel has a lift so anyone with walking issues needs to check before booking. Skipton is a lovely town, is good for walking and as a base for visiting the wider area. The hotel is on a bus route and across the road from the railway station. The car park is large and easy to access.
Good central location. Across the road from the train station
The location was excellent - 10 mins walk along Canal into town .
The welcome ! Arrived about 1 , asked for check in and first words uttered were well you can’t get into room until 3 pm . Didn’t want us to check in even before then . Function on in main bar/lounge, so told to come back at 3 . Couldn’t get space in car park (e mailed ahead to ask if we needed to reserve , they replied no) . She suggested we go to another car park and they would relay cost ! We weren’t really in a designated space but not blocking anyone in so refused to find another car park . Went back at 3pm , waited in queue , we were in the Wharf Suite but said room 26 ! Lot of cunfusion as to where it was . Anyway eventually sorted , room was lovely . BUT traffic noise horrendous , so 2 nights with nit much sleep . They need triple glazing . Lovely overhead shower but unfortunately no hot water through it . In all ok but let down by inexperienced staff , didn’t seem to be anyone in charge .
Breakfast
Fire alarm at 11:30pm
Really nice place, great staff, great room
Bedroom was exceptionally clean and bed was really comfortable.
En suite shower room was narrow.
Breakfast was at best average.
