The room was just what we wanted.
Breakfast was very good but the coffee could have been a little stronger.
My coffee from the bar was excellent
We didn't like the nespresso coffee nor having only longlife milk which is most unpleasant in tea as well.

Lovely location .Well kept garden .Staff were lovely.

Lovely room but the tv needs raising as it it is very difficult to pull out without removing everything off unit and makes plugging in kettle difficult
The restaurant evening meal choice for vegetarians is really poor, hence only eat there one night
The ambience in the public areas. Fantastic! The nice outdoor seating area. The wallpaper in our bedroom!
The breakfast could have been better. There was rather a limited choice of food (cold). My husband had the cooked breakfast one morning, and the (no doubt locally sourced!) sausages were very unpleasant. The slices of bread were too large for the toaster, and the white bread left a nasty aftertaste. We didn't eat dinner there. Menu too fancy for us!
Decent breakfast
No room service, no milk for in-room beverages, electric sockets not working, hot water in shower erratic. Staff expressed concern but no motivation to address or fix issues.
The location of the Pheasant Hotel was excellent, in a quiet and beautiful part of the countryside. Our "chalet", an old Shepherd;s hut was well designed internally and provided a good base for our short break.
we booked the property after reading that WiFi was available but were disappointed because it was NOT available in Keepers chalet. This may sound minor but WiFi is extreme;y important to enable one of us to get to sleep properly. Consequently, the sleep for one of us was not as easy or comfortable as it should have been and this affected our break.
This was reported to reception after the first night and the receptionist explained that there was some discrepancy because the booking was made through Booking.com and that the hotel's procedure had recently changed and that the hotel now informs customers booking "Keepers" that there is no WiFi. Unfortunately for me, this procedure was not in operation when I booked and therefore I did not know that WiFi was not available for me.
Had I known that WiFi was not available then I would NOT have made the booking.
WiFi for all customers was advertised but was not delivered.
The receptionist said that she would speak to the manager but we received no response at all from the manager. The receptionist did offer several options to us and one was to swap to the other chalet but on inspection this was not as well decorated or as light as the newer chalet.
The other option was to move to a different hotel and to change rooms for each of the 3 remaining days.
We received no response from the manager and consequently feel very disappointed.
It was beautifully decorated, had the feel of a grand country Manor House. Everywhere you looked there were lovely decor touches, it had clearly been well thought out, it also felt warm and welcoming, it was an unexpected pleasure.
Our only criticism was that our bed was not particularly comfortable, it had a ridge where the 2 base parts were joined horizontally which dug into my thighs when lying on my sides. I completely understand that given the room is part of an old building and the entrance to the room was restricted, it limits the style of bed it could have. However, maybe a deep topper could solve this issue. The shutters in the room although beautiful and atmospheric allowed a lot of light in at dawn, dark curtains or black out blinds under the shutters would have improved the quality of our sleep. The room was otherwise lovely with a sumptuous feel and well equipped with a decent hair dryer (Dyson) mirrors, including a super make up mirror! Coffee machine, fridge and tea making facilities. Bathroom was gorgeous and lovely toiletries.

Location is good.
Restaurant service was slow and quality of food was poor for the level of cost. So off the pace that we cancelled our dinner reservation after two days and started eating out.
Breakfast was also sub standard with the buffet bar being limited and when items ran out they were no replacements.
Our room had been renovated at some point and finishing was poor, poor quality tiling in bathroom and loose unit tops amongst other items.
The reading lights didn’t work .
Drawer space was very lacking.
The seats in the bedroom had lost their upholstery and were uncomfortable.
Location and ambience of the place
Some dining room staff seemed unsure of what they were doing leading to delays in service.
The comfort, the friendly staff, the good food. Location is perfect.
No air conditioning is all.
