Blocked sink. Blocked air extractor. Twin beds and separate single quilts - I asked for a double! Comfy beds though.

Great place, simple, clean and everything you need. Lovely area and will certainly stay again.
Very peaceful stay even though there was a crowd watching England in the world cup. Joined in with a quiz with friendly people, most enjoyable. Setting was excellent too.

The wait for food on Sunday
Positives first of all, excellent Air Con in hotel building and rooms. Comfy and clean beds. Excellently cooked steak and good meal all round.
Negatives - quite a bit of dust on some surfaces, edges of carpet etc.
Card in room re discount off meals if booked direct with hotel - not made very clear that this discount only applied if the whole stay (not just the meal) was booked direct with the chain and not through a third party.
Ants found in bathroom, then also within the room. Contacted manager, was told that hotel was fully booked so room could not be changed (find this hard to believe that the hotel would not keep at least one room for such incidents) She fetched a vac and ant powder and to be fair, she did her best, but we had to cope with ant powder all round - it did seem to work - no more ants spotted. Offered comp breakfast but we had already paid inclusive. No other kind of compensation offer - not even a voucher towards another stay, though I doubt we would ever consider returning, and will be wary of Marstons altogether.
