The room, staff and location were great, really pleased with the hotel and staff were excellent and very pleasant; especially Katie and the bar staff
Food was less than acceptable. Breakfast was poor - eggs hard, 1 measily sausage, a tiny pot of beans and taste overall was not to a standard we are used to
Evening meal was a awful. I had steak with peppercorn sauce. Steak was tasteless and the sauce was terrible - never tasted anything so bland! My wide had fish n chips and she said it was tasteless.
The 2nd evening I had a curry and yes, it tasted ok but things like a tiny pot of mango chutney was laughable. My wife had a burger and she didnt eat it all as again tasteless.
Either the raw materials were of a poor standard or the chef/cook wasnt bothered what he/she turned out of the kitchen
Breakfast appalling. Under staffed no cutlery, plates, bread, poor service and certain items on menu not available as advertised, such as yoghurt berries. Offered an fork handle instead of a teaspoon. Long wait ti be seated tables not cleared. Waited for a hot drink.
See above..everything advertised, better service, better preparation. Choice of bread. Once out of something replace, ie fruit juice but no glasses.

The so called wonderful breakfast was poor to say the least . Hardly cooked bacon nearly raw sausage and runny egg all of which were of poor quality .Every meal we has there was brought out on at least one piece of crockery that was chipped , I am no snob but dont like my coffee in a chipped cup or my dinner on a chipped plate , no saucers at breakfast just cup not even a proper mug . Seems to me that they are struggling to keep afloat .
