The health and hygiene of the room; the customer service the whole thing was awful

Been staying here on an off for 3 years when visiting family in the area. This stay was RUINED by the fact that there is no note on the booking that the entire street is blocked by roadworks until JANUARY 2027. I drove round for an hour looking for overnight parking being constantly misdirected by Evolve who now manage the property via the message service - at one point they even sent me a location 'for local parking' which was 4 hours away in Manchester in error! I had to pay for local parking till midnight, then get out of bed and book parking for the next day to avoid a fine. Unless you're on foot coming from the railway station then I'd reconsider staying here - shame as its a lovely place. No idea why there isn't some sort of note when you book and Evolve seem to know nothing about the properties they manage. They still owe me my 'damage deposit' I paid online when I booked.

The parking information on the description is not up to date as the car parks recommended don’t permit overnight stays. Also the damage deposit (£350 while refundable is super excessive) and the £40 non refundable damage waiver was a hidden extra. Room advertised at £102 but in reality was £142 so just advertise at £142

TV not working but was not important

They lack a number of amenities. They don’t have a single receptionist even in the day to help answers some questions only if you reach out to the owner. They don’t have microwave to warm food so get ready for your food to get spoilt. They don’t have iron to at least straighten an outfit. The bathroom is VERY SMALL (emphasis on VERY). A whole hotel’s AC wasn’t working at the time of our stay and the owner had to add one more fan which wasn’t blowing properly rather was blowing heat LOL.

Service , misrepresentation of being a hotel. Pre paid in April , pre check in sent and unable to do due to sites id issues . No help for hours. Standing on street trying to get help. Took security deposit . But no help other wise. Not nice being stranded . Also blames others for mistake.

Cleaning was poor, bed was uncomfortable and the pillow was as thick as a few pieces of paper. Bedding was also dirty. Room cleanliness overall was poor.

No hay desayuno, y no suele haber nadie para atenderte, funciona como un airbnb mas que como un hotel, nos costó hasta que nos dieran papel higiénico extra. A persar de que nos dijo el chico que nos atendió el primer dia que el check out era s las 11, el día que nos íbamos a las 10 de la mañana nos aporreó la puerta el personal de limpieza diciendonos que nos teniamos que ir que tenian que preparar la habitación, les dijimos que el check out era a las 11 y justo después me llamó a mi teléfono una señora desde una centralita pidiendome explicaciones de quirn me habia dicho eso e insistiendonos en que nos marcharemos, ¡no me habia pasado eso jamás! No les doy la peor valoración en la atención al público, solo porque Lucky fue bastante amable con nosotros en el checkin.

More like an air bnb than a hotel with drop box for keys

My sister was in Room 7 sadly whoever was in there before her had been smoking in the room, so was unpleasant and I think they took everything that wasn't screwed down as no toilet roll, no complimentary toiletries no tea or milk sachets and although the room had great features, it was hot and stuffy. She didn't sleep as well as I did. The building needs some money spent on it but I doubt Lucky has the Freehold so not a reflection on his air BnB business.

Very steep staircase which made it difficult for me to carry down my heavy suitcase. I couldn't find a staff member to help me when I left.
It was very hot during my stay and the room didn't have air conditioning. The fan did help a bit though.
