バルコニーで夜、夜風にあたろうと思って椅子に座ったら背もたれが低くて、背骨に直撃して痛かった、違うものにしても良さそう

Really great hotel
Pros:

Great location for exploring both on foot and using public transport. Fabulous view from the bar balcony. Really comfy bed, excellent breakfast and every member of staff was welcoming and friendly.

We felt pretty disappointed sadly. We chose to stay at the Gate in Tokyo because of our exceptional experience in Osaka
Pros:

Very good location.

Cons:

Our room unfortunately smelt heavily of cigarettes. It was a non smoking room (you could have vapes which we knew about but it was clearly an ex-smoking room or someone had very recently been smoking in there). It was impacting me that much that I provided feedback and asked what the options were. We were offered an alternative twin room which was much smaller or to have the room deodorized of which we then wouldn’t be able to access the room for two hours (which was fine). Our “king” size bed was two single beds pushed together. These problems didn’t really feel acceptable for the price charged for the room.

Obviously paying for location as expensive for what we received.
Pros:

- location is great
- staff helpful and accommodating.
- beds are comfortable
- breakfast buffet nice but limited.

Cons:

- room small for the price and poorly designed
- sockets not working
- no storage in room for luggage
- bar staff unable to understand an order - received wrong drinks twice
- seating in reception area not user friendly
- no international channels for news/programmes. Only CNN - we’re not American
- had 3 main breakfast items to choose from which were not to our taste. Tea not great. Coffee lukewarm
- smell of drains in lobby and entrance area. Cockroaches running around
- no instructions how to use a/c
- nowhere to hang wet towels
