Pros:

The location is 10/10, you can walk to anywhere in Ginza, and the hotel is at a perfect intersection of many subway lines so no switches needed.

Cons:

The room wasn’t clean. The roof was stained. THE ROOF. There were eyelashes stuck on the faucet from the previous guests. The king size bed was two beds pushed next to each other and the duvet on top isn’t thick enough to hide the bump.

Bottom line: Don’t
Cons:

The hotel is presented on Booking as a 5-star property. In reality, it is not a five-star hotel by any standard. Apart from the beautiful lobby, nothing about the hotel justified that rating.

As a result, there was a significant gap between what we received and what we expected, especially considering the price we paid — by far the most expensive hotel we stayed at during our three-week trip to Japan.

Even breakfast was disappointing. The buffet was entirely Western — perhaps that should already have been a warning sign, as there were hardly any Japanese guests — and it was very limited. They tried to compensate with fresh orange juice and three dishes that could be ordered at the table, but unfortunately those were not good either.

Another important point to be aware of: the room we were initially given was noisy because of the trains passing nearby, and the view from the window was of a building extremely close to ours, to the point that we did not even want to open the curtains. The receptionist was the only person we encountered during our entire trip in Japan who was not friendly. After we insisted, our room was changed to a quieter one facing a more reasonable direction.

Still, it is important to be aware that there is a real chance of ending up with a noisy and unpleasant room, which is especially disappointing at this price level.
